Talk to the scribe, he'll ask you to help, he'll then ask to you to isolate it, and something else happens if you pass the science check, but then you have to find all the terminals (They'll have snide comments on the menu), then when done talk to him again.

If you have high enough scinece you get give the scribe an idea that lets him contain the virus in one computer so then you only have two to worry about. When the scribe says "now" save the game. This way the computer with the virus will never change. So the its only a matter of finding those two computers.

I think the saving trick works even if you still have to find all three. If the screen does not have a bunch of gibberish just move on to the next.

Actually, you move on if the screen does have a bunch of gibberish, the ones with the virus in them have a taunt on the screen. Unless you're referring to a portion of the virus you've already found, in which case disregard the previous comment.

Another trick you can use, but that I am not sure is actually WAI, also involves the partitioning. When you find the virus, click the 'partition' option three times in a row and it will isolate all three parts at once. Kind of a lazy way out, but it does work.

This is false. I know this because I did it two nights ago. I saved right before he said "now" then when I failed I reloaded it and they were in all different computers. I eventually got it but that trick does not work. I am still playing the PC version with no updates at all. So maybe the patched changed something around I don't know...

I was wondering - when you're trying to chase this virus down, is it necessary to check the terminals along the walls or is it only in the terminals in the middle of the room? Just wondering if there's a way to cut down my random searching.

They are in the outerwall ones as well as the inside ones.. What I did is once I had a run of getting 2 of the virus' I quick saved right after that because then when you fail. Just reload and look for that ONE virus compared to three new ones everytime.

One other thing, that seems to have been omitted so far:

If you are using the [Science] option, then only one portion of the virus can be found per one-minute increment, so if you happen to find it right away, and are not using the 'triple click' trick, you will need to let the rest of the timer expire so the virus will 'jump' to another terminal.

I did this the "normal" way.

I did a "hard save" first in case I had to start all over.

Then I quickly looked for the first terminal. If I found it I would isolate it and instantly save the game. Then I looked for the next terminal. When I found it I would then reload my save and then dash to the 2nd terminal that I had just discovered and isolate the virus on it and instantly save again. OK. Two down. Then hunt for the third. If you have the time then isolate it. If you don't have the time, then load that second quick save and then dash over to the 3rd discovered terminal. There. Done. The trick is the quick saves instantly after each virus discovery.

This is untrue.

With the science option, I've gotten all 3 within the one-minute time limit. Given, it took fine-tuning how I accessed each terminal.

I'm on the 360. As soon as you 'choose' a terminal you have about 1-2 seconds before it comes up. I'd always start backing-up/turning to the next terminal as soon as I chose one, which would allow me to do a full circuit of the room in (barely) under 1 minute. though I think the most recent time I did it, I was well-under the minute-mark as 3 out of the first 5 computers had the virus
