Whilst playing Fallout: New Vegas, every time I came across a bug and/or glitch, I jotted it down on a notepad for future reference (My memory...always has and always will be terrible). I'll start with some of the big ones I encountered first, the ones which are most likely experience by not just myself, down to others which could have been encountered by me individually due to hardware or other reasons. Finally I will list spelling mistakes I have spotted in the chat-subtitle sequence whilst interacting with NPC's. Most were encountered on Hard Core mode, all were encountered on PC platform. I searched but could not find a more suitable place to unload this block of text. If there is some other place, do not hesitate to tell me.
Major Bugs:
1) The Brotherhood of Steel's 'Missing Laser Pistol' found in Scorpion Gulch after the Quatermaster, Rifle Range, Recruit sequence appears (when holstered) slung across the back of the courier (as a rifle) instead of at his waist like a regular pistol. The Laser Pistol being a Pistol, not a rifle.
2) Legate Lanius - On 'The House Always Wins' or 'All or Nothing', (Including those quests (easy mode) but perhaps not limited to) The Legate can be headshotted from the rocks adjacent to him ( as seen at the beginning of this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iQQh212dYiI ) whilst crouched with the Anti-Material rifle, with guns skill at 100. The result is an immediate sneak critical headshot with an armor piercing round which Instantly kills him. The Quest then cannot be compeleted, as the radar indicator merely points to his dead body.
Glitches:
3) REPPCON Headquarters - It is possible to get stuck in the rubble (collapsed roof) above the special weapon found there (in the orange glowing case).
4) The bridge (with the frag mines on it) linking Primm village and the NCR outpost opposite it has a couple of abandoned car wreckages. When climbed on, the courier floats above them as if there is an invisible platform (I assumed it is a deleted prop which still has some kind of effect?)
5) The Rocks/Cliff across from Hover Dam, adjacent to the Sniper Tower in the quest where you protect the president are out-of-bounds. I'm not sure if it is meant to be this way, but i find it incredibly cheesy, cheap and frustrating that some invisible force prevents the courier from crossing them, resulting in a long trek around them to reach the dam road. Perhaps this was put in place to prevent escape during the final missions? I don't see how a player would get UP them to escape, and coming off DOWN them should be allowed.
6) I'm not sure If this is suppose to happen, but encountering the Brotherhood of Steel patrol during the natural phenomenon at night makes them hostile (red indicator on the radar), and any attempt at contacting them or destroying them to further the game mission towards completion, has to be done by invading their base and slaughtering them all. To much difficulty. Without a chance to speak to any of them at all.
General Flaws and Spelling Errors:
7) House says 'The Override will allow me to', the Subtitle reads 'The Override will allow to'.
8) A Grammar error on 'Raquel' I spotted... The subtitle reads 'We lost two killed three' when Raquel (speaking) pauses in between 'Two Killed'. I believe an ellipsis or comma should be placed in the Subtitle.
9). One Major disappointment in this game, a severe exploit and flaw which I dislike about the game is as follows. The fact that a silenced weapon can be used from any shadow or 'Hidden' position on any individual WITHOUT consequence besides failing any quest they give I find to be unfair and unrealistic. I sat in a corner of Camp Golf and headshotted each and every elite ranger (as seen on the Fallout: New Vegas front cover) instantly killing them (even on hardcoe mode) with the silenced sniper rifle. Each one fell, I looted their corpse of their extremely useful armor and weapons, repaired each to full CND, one on full CND for myself, one on full CND for boone. Now I know that if the person you're speaking to suddenly has their head blown off, in the middle of your army's strongest defense Headquarters, you don't just walk away and speak to somebody else. I believe this is a flaw with the sneak system, where I agree this should can be used effectively in the situations it is designed for, but it is not limited and can be used to wipe out ever single member of the NCR, the Great Khans, the Powder Gangers, Boomers and The Legion, every civilian in Goodsprings, Primm, the entirety of New Vegas. Every person in the Mojave Wasteland can be killed unrealistically provided they are of unimportance. Not that that makes them immune, you'd merely fail any missions they had for you. Now I know this could be seen as weather or not you exploit this or not..but I believe this should just be fixed. It's entirely against the game, entirely unfair and unrealistic. Some may disagree.
10) The following video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iQQh212dYiI indicates flaws, perhaps in C4 power, which may or may not be due for change.
I feel the engine for the two previous fallout releases still has its flaws. I think maybe Fallout: NV was rushed or quality checked by a bunch of monkeys. Having said that, I think the game is excellent and definitely a must buy. It exceeded my expectations vastly and I am very impressed. Having played for over 60 hours since it's release, I am well and truly hooked to an extent more than I ever was for Fallout 3. I hope to see many patches and DLC for this game which can only increase it's chances to be embedded on the commandment stones of video game history.
I may or may not discover more to post this. If i am able, I would add to this main post. Forum experiences may negate me from doing so, in any case I'll either add to this thread, an on-subject one or a new one, unless told otherwise.
