separate armor pieces CONFIRMED

Post » Wed Aug 25, 2010 10:30 pm

One piece armor sets had been in fallout since the original. Bethesda just did the same thing for 3. Doesn't fit in TES.

THANK YOU!

This confirms a doubt only DUMB people had. Why the heck would Skyrim have one-piece armor?! FO3 had them because thats how its been done in FO! GOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I hate nerds!

Really, now, there's no need to call people dumb. They played Morrowind (maybe), which had a lot of armor slots. They played Oblivion, which had fewer. Then they played FO3 that had few still. It's not that hard to understand why some people saw a trend, regardless of the fact that FO3 is a different series.

I hate to say this, but technically, fallout 3 had separate pieces (hat, armor, eyewear). I guess its still possible that we might have separated armor, but it will be less chopped up than in TESIV. Maybe we will get "armor" (shirt and graeves), helmet, and boots.

You could say that, but the question the guy asked on the right was 'Will Skyrim's armour be one piece or separated into cuirass, gauntlets etc..' which kind of suggests he means that it will be like Oblivion, but there is still a (somewhat slim) possibility he could just be talking in crafty company jargon that means it will be 'hat, armour eyewear' as you say. But mainly I think he means like Oblivion.

Originally I though this post was about whether the pieces would be comprised of pauldrons, right gauntlet etc. but it actually tells us nothing about that except that its not like Fallout's one-piece armours...

But how separate? I didn't think they would jump straight to fallout style armor, I do still think its simplified more. Maybe the greaves are connected to the boots? Or guantlets connected to the cuirass? Those don't sound very appealing. Maybe we will just have more armors that are linked? Maybe just less variety. I assume there will be simplification somewhere. Of course I've been wrong before, maybe im still wrong.

Wow... you're more pessimistic than nearly all of the people on these forums and that's saying something... Even your sig... you need to lighten up....

regarding pouldrons
One proof is in front of your eyes- background of this forum  (I also hope that it isn't specific armor design)
I expect that there will be whole armor sets (like Arena outfits), full cuirases (like in TES4), and chestplates that can be combined with pouldrons (like in TES3)

Hopefully. Would be cool to be able to wear layers of clothes again as well. (My poor Nord's mother fell in love with, and emigrated to the home of, a Hammerfell mercenary. My Nord gets mighty cold)

That's a load off my mind. the question I asked was "Will Skyrim armor be one-piece or separated into cuirass, greaves, boots, and gauntlets?" and I got "Armor is comprised of separate pieces." I'd still be surprised to see pauldrons but it looks like we will at least have more separation than in FO3, which is enough for me I guess.

You were really worried about it being like FO3?

The Fallouts have always been like that when it comes to apparel, Beth was only following its design there. Should have asked about pauldrons.

Stop getting my hopes up about pauldrons man.

I don't get where people got the idea in the first place that because Bethesda now owns the Fallout intellectual property that they intended on making Elder Scrolls a fantasy version of Fallout...

Could of sworn I posted in this already. Anyway, I was never worried the one piece armor has always been a trademark of Fallout. This is the Elder Scrolls. I do wish pauldrons, and that gloves didn't come in pairs though.
