Am I the only one disappointed that dragons aren't rare?

I think that having them appear frequently is good. Aren't they supposed to be essentially "invading"?

Dragons are the mud crabs of Skyrim. Disgusting creatures.

IMMENSE LIKE on this comment xD you actually made me lol, and that is rare, unlike dragons.

Anyway, I know they are invading, I was just at first disappointed that they aren't rare because I was afraid they would become the new Oblivion gates or Cliffracers. That fear is gone now though, but is still relevant to some people here.

I've seen some comments in previous pages regarding the MQ that I want to address. To assume that the dragons will remain the sigular focus of the main quest is ignorant. Keep in mind there is a civil war happening and at some point you will most likely have to deal with it. Additionally, it's possible that the dragons are a red herring and not actually the main threat. For all we know, they're running from something too. Possible Alduin has already destroyed their land and is coming for Tamriel next. Or maybe a daedric prince is using Alduin as a front.

The fact is, grandiose elements can lead to subtle story elements and meaningful choices. It's good to keep in mind we know the outline of the story, not the details or plot points.

I for one am looking forward to seeing what kind of civil war shenanigans will be brewing.

I hope their's Dragon Scales that we can collect off the corpse. Then I can make DragonSkin Weapons or Armor.

You know I didn't think about until now. I hope so too.

GOD I hope you're sarcastic o.O"..............................................................
Oblivion gates were a living hell, and I'm talking about gameplay here...

Yeah I couldn't even bother with the Main Quest after doing it twice.

I'm in love with every aspect of the game except for when I learned that Beth has decided to treat dragons as any other creature... I mean, they should be more unique aren't they? And I really don't want to take them as another "Cool at first but annoying later" trend... I kinda hoped they'll be rare, not too rare, but that it would definately feel like a boss fight even after 50 times of fighting them. I was hoping that seeing a dragon is something players should be running towards to, and not from.

It's not that big of a deal but just thought it would be different. I'm interested in seeing if Beth's outtake on dragons is good, and hopefully it is.

They can still be unique, and rare, beth has just made sure that you can't run out of dragons. It doesn't mean you are gonna run into dragons left and right.

Good points, I'm glad you've pointed it out since most people around here didn't seem to notice it.

I for one hope (very much) that the main threat is not the dragons, or that there's someone working in the background and plays with everyone as chess pieces.

I love stories and the possiblities they bring. Especially this one!

There's a lot of potential for political tension to be at the root of the story. Hopefully they've taken advantage of it!

To those that say it reminds them of Oblivion gates. It seems that Bethesda likes doing scenarios similar to the gates.

Oblivion - Oblivion Gates
Shivering Isles - Obelisks
Skyrim - Dragons

I hope dragons will be entertaining encounters and not something that grows stale quickly.

Hopefully big enough that when I eventually see him my jaw will drop and I'll be speechless.

I made a thread when I first read Todd saying that there will be an infinite number of dragons.

You both said the same thing you know :P
