E.T.A. on patch #2 ?

Post » Fri Sep 03, 2010 1:38 am

Can we have an eta on a new patch that would fix the "corrupt" save files a lot of the community members (myself included) are having?

Having invested 30+hrs on one character, I personally don't feel like starting a new one just to have the save files corrupting again.

Pretty please?... I...I love you?

Alot of people are in your boat, myself being one of them.

This will most likely get locked, lucky if its just moved.

Unfortunatly nobody with knowledge comes on the forums to talk to their paying customers.

That's all that is known, and probably all that will be said until the patch is actually there.

If the patch fixes savegame corruption, it is likely that it only fixes the cause of this corruption, and will not fix saves that are already corrupted and won't load.

It doesn't seem like a corrupted file to me, I don't think anybody knows for sure though. I'm just surprised we havn't heard any word on why it is even caused.

I have the save game bug as well, but only for Quick saves. Sometimes it happens, that Fallout: New Vegas tells me, it creates a quick save, but it actually does not.

ETA on patches is almost always "as soon as its done." They can't schedule a patch because that would mean they'd have to cut fixes or testing to get it on time or delay releasing it if done early.

I hope they fix Vault 11.

Yep, and in fact, I've never even seen a patch for any game that fixes a corrupted save. Fix the causes of yes, but due to the unique data within each save -especially with a game like this- attempting to repair them via an automatic patch is more likely to make them worse.

Thats what I figure, but I wouldn't mind a little note from them saying "We are currently working on this, this and this"

My issue is with Vault 3, from what I've read around the forums, Vault 3 might be one of the causes...

See that's it, all I'm looking for is a fix to the cause so that I don't waste another 30+ hours playing a game that will just kick me in the head again *teehee*
