Will archery be left handed too?

Post » Sun Sep 12, 2010 11:06 am

We see in the video that the player is holding the bow in his left hand and arrow with right. Will this be the opposite for those left handed players - bow in right hand, arrow in left? Or does left handed only apply to weapon and shield?

the real question here is "can you duel wield bows?" (not being serious).

I'm pretty certain bows will be classed as two-handed weapons, and always held in the left hand.

I hope, for the sake of left handed players, that they let you put them into one's right hand.

They should. I wouldn't count on it though.

Unfortunately, this will apply to a lot of queries. The game is a console port, and the available inputs must be few enough to work with a controller.

I don't see how this example would be limited by gamepad buttons. When you assign a weapon, you can choose which hand to put it in. All that would have to be done is pressing the left or right trigger when you select the bow in the inventory, and that would set whether you hold it left or right handed.

All it would take is equipping the weapon to your left hand rather than your right... I'm imagining that the duel wielding weapons will give us the choice whether to have a sword in the right hand or an axe in the right hand and the other weapon in the left. So I don't see how it would be impossible to achieve.

Seriously, dude? Does it REALLY matter which hand the bow is in?

C'mon, we're just asking for ridiculous stuff now.

A bow is a two-handed weapon.

A bow is a two-handed weapon.

It's really simple. You go into the inventory. You highlight the bow. You press the left trigger to hold it one way, you press the right trigger to hold it the other way. It's not that hard.

A right-handed person draws the bowstring with their right hand. They could just mirror the model or something. Why would it be difficult at all?

For some, yes, it does. I couldn't stand playing Unreal Tournament 2004 with my weapons in my left hand. It drove me up the wall, until I finally found the option to change it.

Besides, we already know that, for one handed items, we get to chose which hand they go in. I don't see how it should be any different with bows or two handed weapons.

Since you can choose with 1 handed weapons, they should have the option to change it for 2 handed weapons.

If I were left handed, I would just use 1 handed weapons if I was unable of choosing to change it with 2 handed weapons.
Its a simple thing to do, and it would certianly make a number of people feel better.
