Apparently when I pick pocketed the detonator and killed the sniper the president of NCR still dies.

Are you telling me that I had to do both? That would make no sense since I took the detonator.

I think it's painfully obvious what the answer to that question is.

Damn that's stupid. I would of gone back to the ship, but after I killed the sniper they fled.

It's wise in situations like this to have multiple failsafes. The bomb is on a timer AND a detonator, so that a malfunction in one will not cause the assassination mission to fail. Further, collaborators committing suicide is a strategic decision. Even if they aren't discovered at the scene, they may be discovered later. Having your operative on the ground blow himself up removes the possibility that he could ever be tortured and give your enemies a thread to follow up the chain. The handler, who is potentially placed inside your enemy's organization, is then not in danger of being discovered and can potentially be used again later on.

C'mon, guys. This is not the spoilers forum.

Believe it or not there a re folks who don't want to read this stuff—that's why they have a complete forum just for this.

Okay. Now it's the Spoilers forum :hubbahubba:

this is a really easy one to solve—once you realize you've been sandbagged. You can either disarm the bomb and then run to the tower, wait for the ranger to be thrown from the roof and take out the sniper; or vice versa.

The windbag talks long enough for you to take out a half dozen assassins :sadvaultboy:

I thought, I only had to take the detonator and kill the sniper. I would of defused it, but the president fled. It's whatever since they didn't even mention the president dying.

It's a weird quest. Both times I beat it it was by killing the sniper, using the radio, then rushing down to kill the spy. Both times the prez flew away safely. I've never had to deal with the bomb.
