Thoughts about the Khajiit Photo

Post » Sun Sep 12, 2010 4:43 pm

I think that they look like they're bent like humans. Just the way they are pointing forwards, you know? Well, just a guess. Still, thanks for bringing this up. Hadn't thought of this.

Everyone is forgetting one thing.

That face is nasty. :yucky:

I really don't like how the face looks. Personally, however, I'm not quite too worried about the leg style of Khajiit. While I prefer Morrowinds method, by far, I can live with them having boring old normal legs. What I AM worrried about, however, is if our Argonians will look like Imperials with a godzilla mask.

What are those things hanging off the jaw on either side of its head? Is those bits of dangling hair, or teeth?

That just doesnt look right to me.

Many people have talked and wondered if the Khajiit Race will have its legs like they looked in Morrowind.
And im NOT sure about this thing, but it looks like the Khajiit on this Photo have bent legs. Well you decide what you believe, and remember im not sure, just a thing i thought about.

If you look at the Khajiit in this link.

http://cdn.gamerant.com/wp-content/uploads/Skyrim-screenshot-Khajiit.jpg

Well, what do you think?

Absolutely fantastic.

I am hoping for normal legs like in Oblivion so I can wear full normal armor. I hated the legs etc of Khajiit in Morrowind. In reality a humanoid lion with humanoid shaped hands that can hold a sword probably would have humanoid legs and humanoid feet to match. Those legs in Morrowind just look weak and not made to carry loads.

I hope they aren't bent like morrowind. Not only does it look stupid but unless they are going to run around on all fours then theres no point having the bent legs

I think people are a bit too pessimistic about the morrowind way the legs looked. Obviously those ones were pretty bad, every animation in that game was. Combine beast legs with current technology and design styles.. I think they'd be pretty good at making it bestial without looking like an alien.

As for the photo, I think they took the shot to keep that undisclosed. The legs could be either bent or straight.

I was going to say the same thing but the OP's topic title is a bit misleading. It should have been "Thoughts about Khajiit Legs". The face, I feel, is a bit too guant compared to the rest of it's body. It looks like a house cat still when I was really hoping they'd go for more of a lion sculpt. It is, however, 10x better than Oblivion's Khajiit.

It's a good thing we have a face customization tool. The different facial features are hand-modeled instead of blend shapes.

Here's a good comparison between Oblivion's and Skyrim's Khajiit. I say his legs are bent further than normal. Of course everything would be thrown out the window if the Khajiit was standing on a staircase.

I would love to see different sub-species of Khajiit represented and available to use as your player character. It doesn't seem like it would be too hard to integrate into the character customization.

In lore, it says: "The Ohmes is the most common form seen outside of the province of Elsweyr, taking advantage of other races' preference to their appearance to serve in positions of ambassadorship and trade". Yet as of now, it seems you can only play as Suthay-raht.

How does forwards = human? Have you SEEN an actual cat? http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-YQyNqMj6n0U/TZTLsKQj-FI/AAAAAAAAAKk/0STu2x3puk4/s1600/cat-skeleton.jpg and http://www.daviddarling.info/images/human_skeleton.jpg.

True. I could probably make my Khajiit look a hell of a lot different than the one in the screenshot if I really wanted to.

Yes, his legs are definitely a bit different than the Oblivion model. I doubt it's just his combat stance. Hopefully we'll get something closer to http://digicoll.library.wisc.edu/Science/data/images/MmBib/VetAnatImg/xlarge/0054x.jpg rather than http://courses.washington.edu/chordate/453photos/skeleton_photos/cat-hind-leg.jpg or http://www.marija.savic.ca/images/still_life/images/leg%20bones.jpg.

On another note, that body fur is amazing.

See, this is what we want. Some kind of middle ground. While personally, I love Morrowind's method, I would be quite content with this.

Khajiits aren't based on cats. They are based on bigger cats such as a lion

A lions / cats legs are shaped the way they are to suit that particular build. The second they become humanoid shaped the leg shape becomes useless. They are designed to spring the cats forward or to run on all fours. Not stand upright and carry things on two legs.

Well, one thing's for sure Skyrim's combat stance looks much better.
