So we all know that Patch 1.02 added some items to all of the safehouses, right?
Let me say that again:

PATCH 1.02 ADDED SOME ITEMS

So what happens if we took those items, but we "lost" the patch? The game would be like it was before the patch. Well, the game was even buggier back then, so that's no good. Better install the patch again. In other words, better add those items again.

EVERYTIME you install Patch 1.02, it adds the items.

Basically it's like this:

1). Install Fallout: New Vegas
2). Download the Patch(es)
3). Start game
4). Go to all of the safehouses and collect the items
5). Save and quit the game
6). Delete the game data
7). Install Fallout: New Vegas
8). DO NOT INSTALL THE PATCH(ES) YET
9). Start game, then save and quit
10). NOW install the patch(es)
11). Start game
12). Go to all of the safehouses and collect the items
13). Go back to Step 5



Doing this lets you get tons of rare (as in limited in number, or rarely sold/found) and unique (ONLY found in the safehouses) items. Here's a list:

Of course, some of these items are easy to obtain, depending on your choices in the game (Legion armor is pretty easy to find when the Legionaries come running to you to get killed)
And it's completely redundant on the PC
