Dragon riding

Ride Dragons?!?

I just want to kill them. It would be problematic to kill the Dragon while at airliner altitude...

Not if you're like Kratos!

Especially considering dragons aren't pressurized.

For me it's not that it wouldn't be cool, but it wouldn't fit. Dragons are the bane of existence in this game, not ordinary races or creatures. If they did have some dragons that defected from Alduin's side to aid you, they are likely still too intelligent to be mounted like a horse. Even if they would allow you to ride them, Bethesda would have a hard time making it feel like you're riding a highly intelligent and ancient magical beast who wouldn't really need to be driven like a horse, but can make decisions far better than you can, especially in the air.

The only possible problem I can see with riding dragons is how long the landscape will take to load. Look up all the Akatosh mount mods for Oblivion. The game freezes up after every other wing flap. I can only imagine Skyrim being the same way unless dragons were really slow flyers.

To all those that think it doesn't fit, think about how little we know about the Dragonborn and the story. Maybe the dragons eventually help you fight off Alduin at some point? We've already been told we can summon them with a shout. Why not ride them? We're going to make them our [censored] anyway.

No, no, no, no, NO, NO! NO!!!

Stop asking this!

Riding dragons would just make the world seem smaller and detract from their aura of imminent threat.

This wouldn't be a probelm after a number of hours playing the game. After you've seen it all, you kind of get over that anyway. Could be fixed if the only thing you could do in order to ride them was obtain every dragonshout or some such. You know, a feat that takes a long time to accomplish?

Yes, and i'm not ashamed to admit it.

I follow every last bit of information about this game, and it annoys the hell out of me that people keep asking the same things over and over.

I especially hate it when interviewers who actually get access to Todd or devs are guilty of that exact same thing. If its already been answered or revealed, don't ask it again. If they're worried that many of their readers aren't up on the basics then that info can be summarized in print above the interview transcript. Its pointless to bother busy people with questions they've already answered time and again.

I have the best solution for this, I think. We are supposed to have at least one allied dragon right? Why not allow us to fly a one way trip on its back to the final battle. No player control, pre-decided location, can only happen once per playthrough.

Agreed. The amount of interviewers who have asked the same generic questions... it's frustrating. Fair enough, there might be some questions where they want to squeeze a bit more information out of, but if it's already been asked and the answer is a clear 'yes' or 'no' don't bother asking.

I don't care if there's legitimate dragon riding or not. I'm still going to ride them. First i'll get em all fired up and when they charge me, i'll use my amazing acrobatics (OH WAIT..) and jump on its back and presume to ride it into the sky. I will use some form of brain control on it (much more powerful than mind control) and it will become my involuntary mount.

It has been confirmed that you won't be able to ride Dragons, but yes it would be cool.
