Why does being evil svck?

Post » Sat Sep 18, 2010 6:05 pm

I started an evil character. I helped the Powder Gangers take over Goodsprings which made my reputation with them "Friend."

So why is it that every Powder Ganger I run across outside of the small group in Goodsprings are always hostile toward me? We're supposed to be friends. And no, I don't mean "Escaped Convicts" I mean Powder Gangers.

Because they're bandits.

You'll notice that the always hostile ones don't give you a reputation penalty. And, in fact, grant karma.

Heck, one of the first quests you do for the Powder Gangers (THE first quest) has him go over how some of the gang are looking to break away from the group. They're not unified.

If you talk to the first guard, to the right, near the counter, inside the NCRCF, he will tell you that the powder gangers on the road will still attack you if you stumble across them.

They dropped that, and it was voted in "Survival of the fittest" to be the new saying! :foodndrink:

Yes. Otherwise, being an evil, sneaking Thief in Fallout NV and FO3 is very profitable while playing the game, but more dangerous too.

After helping them and getting my rep high with 'em I killed two in self defense who were hostile against me cause I was in low level and did not want to die trying to run away.
Killing those two instantly made me Vilified with PG's.

All I know is I've done everything the "Good" way, but I'm still a villian just because I steal crap... even from 'evil' characters! I guess karma thinks stealing is stealing, no matter who it's from... :sadvaultboy:

I actually find it hard to be "evil" in this game, because all the evil faction are horrible in the sense that they are weak. I mean in order to get the best outcome in terms of companions or equipment it seems I have to side with the NCR or the good faction almost all the time. I made a new character where I went around stealing everything I could, picking locks, and just generally killing a handful of people, and I'm still in good karma because I take the good side with missions. Maybe if I sided with the Legion it would be different, but it seems the NCR is around every place I actually want to go which makes it kind of difficult to not be friendly with them. I would like to not die every time I wandered past a town with some NCR in it.

Because your evil, and all your "friends" are evil. And being evil is just basically another way to say that somebody is a real [censored], so, these are the consequences of your actions, your a [censored], your allies are pricks, so its only natural that they say "Hey, look, its that [censored]" and then they unload on you, because your all just a bunch of big, fat, pricks. :)

That is why I had to make a new character... I sides with the legion, and everytime i entered the strip I was shot at by NCR, and if I shot back, the robots would attack me too! And if I killed a robot, I was villified with the strip!

I think that was blasted by the Nuclear Holocaust and then the dust consumed by famine and disease. XD

I just recently helped them link up with the Great Khans. I was hoping there would be more to the Powder Gang, it's not much though.
