I like feeling that my actions have a consequence.

Not just doing everything for loot.

A definitive end to the story (you can always wander about aimlessly with an old save)

A logical continuation of the original Fallout 1 lore

Unique weapons that look unique!

Not just another Vault-Dweller story.

Salvage is used to make other items of value.

And just about everything else already mentioned in this thread (Survival skill, character build ops, perks, traits, hardcoe, factions, etc). This really is a great game!

Great game, shame it just ends completely though. Also pretty barren but considering it just ends I guess they didn't want you doing too many things other than the main quest line anyway.

I had a bad taste in my mouth after getting to the level cap and end of story for Fallout 3 but I'm having a great time with this game. I'm playing hardcoe and having a challenging time, but not too difficult to make me stop playing. I was worried I'd get through 3 hours of game play and find it too hardcoe to continue, but that hasn't happened. I also do not have the performance problems I had with the original iteration of Fallout 3.

You could always, you know, explore as much as you want before taking on the main quest to completion.

Despite the bugs, I do like the game.

I love being able to steal without it affecting my Karma too terribly and my association being based on the reputation. I may go back and play this game as 'Evil' once I finish. I still need to finish my first play through of fallout3 (pathetic! I know.),

I love my Eyebot! I am sorry, but I found them so cute in FO3. I wanted one. I spent a few hours following one around once to see it's path.

I like the greenery and the trees that the western coast has. Obviously, Vegas wasn't hit as badly as the capital.

I do miss learning about the Enclave, the Great War and the Chinese Communists. Fallout3 was my first Fallout, but I've been reading the Wikis.
However, I'm getting to learn a bit about the NCR and the new group, Cesar's Legion (but I guess they were gonna be in Van Buren).

I like Mr. New Vegas. He soothes my soul.

Caesar's Legion fascinate me, I was totally surprised when I found out what they stood for... I had always assumed that they were simply like the Enclave, just the typical bad guys.

Anti-Materiel rifle. nothing like hearing that loud metallic noise when firing .50 BMG's. oh and also the light machine gun. it's as if my light machine gun feeds off NCR trooper souls since they are my main source of 5.56mm.

I hope this sentiment makes its way up the chain in Obsidian. I'm enjoying and appreciating the game very much.

Fallout 3 gave me a lot of joy, and I'm glad Bethesda took the initiative to breathe new life into the series. I don't want to look down on what they did at all. Fallout 3 is awesome.

But in more ways than one, New Vegas is the Fallout game for which I've been waiting for 10 years. Cheers to Avellone, Sawyer, Urquhart, and all of Obsidian. Here's to many DLC releases in its future.

If Bethesda has any sense, they will keep Obsidian and the original Fallout crew close at hand for the future. I'd like nothing better than to see this same team's fingerprints on the games from now on. It's the way it should be.

I love:

- The new colors, much more colorful than FO3.
- Cass. Just awesome.
- Not hearing some loser say "Steel be with you" despite playing for hours.
- Not hearing some loser scream "This is Three Dog, AWHOOOOHOEEWH!" on the radio every five minutes.
- The Kings.
- Reinforced Leather Armor.
- Absence of Metro Tunnels.
- Benny, his suit and Maria.
- Fantastic (the character)
- Mr. New Vegas
- No Feral Ghoul Reavers (haven't seen them at least)
- The new revolvers (without scope!)
- Iron sights.

I love it because for me it feels like a truer continuation of the fallout saga ( I have followed FO since the first were released)
Comparing it to FO 3 i love:

The deeper dialouge
the factions, and the role they play.
the mojave dessert compared to DC
The humor
And the feeling it gives me, compares very much to the feeling i got from FO 1/2

I must admit, I loved Benny, I loved his dialogue and how he is almost the ultimate "speech" type of character...

But... I had to shoot him in the head, it was only business baby... ya dig?

So far the only bug I've hit has to do with Caravan - none of the cards I've been picking from other decks have been showing up as something I could use to create my own deck. But on the other hand, I'm finding that - while it's a fun game (my wife and I have even played a couple of rounds of it with the CE deck,) I'm also finding that I don't really need those extra cards to be able to beat the AI. :shrug:

Myself, I'm really enjoying the game, though. Absolutely loving the hardcoe mode. Wasn't sure I would. More than anything, I'm finding that getting stuck with crippled limbs until I get to a doctor or something else really brings a lot more impact into that survival aspect (as opposed to Fallout 3, where I thought getting crippled was more of an annoyance than anything.) I feel a lot more vulnerable, without feeling like it's making the game so terribly much more difficult, at the same time. The extra survival meters are a nice touch - and at the same time not something that completely takes over the focus of the game, or takes away from anything else. (ie, I was worried it would make it like The Sims, where I was spending all my time watching meters.)

That's kind of what I'd been missing from the old Fallout games - and it's a fun feeling to see brought back. I'm still early on, relatively. It hasn't taken me long to learn that venturing off the roads really is quite dangerous - and not something that I can do lightly at this stage of the game.

I love this game despite it's flaws. Deathclaws should totally be able to jump on rocks though. Srsly

Like Fallout 3, New Vegas has a few glitches and an occasional freeze, but considering how huge the world of play is I think you almost have to expect that. I am about 20 hours in and have made a short visit to the Strip but I have so much left to do in this game. I love it, the story, the setting -- everything about it. I'm sure they will fix some of the issues, but Fallout 3 never had all the issues fixed and it is still my favorite game (maybe to be replaced by New Vegas, but we will see).

I love:

- That I've leaughed more than a dozen times.
- Having felt sorry for more than several characters when hearing their stories. Even getting the opportunity to avenge some wrongs for some. Being massively engaged.
- Having been genuinely engrossed in a few quests and the slow way I chose to tackle them.
- Having been very impressed with the atmosphere of the quiet areas sitting in darkness around the glow of The Strip.
- Loving the reputation system.
- being impressed with some of the quest areas such as Vault 22
- being impressed with the expanded weapon selection over Fallout 3s, including the weapon modding, ammo creation and recycling.
- being impressed knowing that any number of the many conversations I had with NPCs will be way different if I build a different character in future - as it should be.
- being impressed at there being so much, I'm missing a horde of stuff from a list I'm currently typing.
- being impressed at continually...

Fallout 3 times a number I haven't decided yet. I like... F:NV a lot.

Haha, I must admit, Fisto is probably one of the most unique NPC's Obsidian's has ever come up with :laugh:

for me its...
1. The iron sights
2. The strip (gambling and [censored]s)
3. The fact that you get assassins come after you is cool!
4. Customizable guns and ammo
5. lots of well thought of side quests that are much more in-depth and enjoyable!

I really appreciate the game, give it 8/10.

The story in New Vegas is so much better than the story in Fallout 3. I feel like there's more of a purpose behind what you're doing, rather than just looking for your dad.

Also, I've only been playing for about 15 hours, but I haven't experienced a single freeze or crash. Sounds like I'm one of the lucky ones.

I highly doubt Obsidian would want it, but I'd offer them my soul if I could. I love New Vegas sooo much -- I haven't had this much fun since I first grabbed Morrowind. :')
The dialogue is seriously amazing, and I love being able to make so many different choices. I find it especially great because the options aren't so clear-cut "good" and "evil".

Plus, there's Benny! I love Benny. :hugs:
