real time jail time?

Post » Wed Sep 22, 2010 2:01 am

Not sure this would work, but certainly there needs to be some penalty to your Character for breaking the law.
Perhaps you should effectively lose X amount of levels, depending on your crime.

The fact that there is no penalty for the Character is what makes players slaughter entire cities for the hell of it.

Not real time jail time, that would be a little much if your character was a real criminal. It'd be cool to see a bit more of jail then sitting in a cell until you sleep for an hour, no matter how much time you've earned. Maybe executions you could escape for mass murder, or escapable torture, forced prison work, etc.

Or a guard can come and beat you up... and then you can steal the guard's key if you're good at stealing.

Guard:hey there is a random prisoner in the cell! im going to beat him because im bored!
*Smack!*

my main problem with jail was the amnesia points between the street and all of a sudden you are in a cell and the other one where you go to sleep and magically you are outside but you lost a skill -,-

I thought the waiting shown in jail was supposed to represent the actual sentence? I didn't do jail time very often, but Im pretty sure it took more than waiting 1 hour.

You shouldn't have said real time, more accurate sentences isn't quite the same as real time.

I already often load a quick save if I get caught and arrested... If I had to actually wait in a prison cell my characters would literally never go to jail.

Getting physically crippled and getting diseases IRL svcks too. I still want it in game though. It′s not like it would be the same to be in prison in game or IRL after all. Same goes for physical damage and diseases.

I still thinks serving time in a well done prison environment would be fun and it would add depth to the whole prison thing.

That is a good point I remember playing Fall Out 3 with a couple of realistic injury mods, and yes including crippled legs, was pretty hard .... But I loved it maked my game by far more realistic ...

I never been in a jail, and I prefer to stay out ... I havn't a criminal warrent in Real lIfe and prefer to stay out that kind of [censored] ....

But realistic dungeons would be pretty groovy,

In Oblivion the dungeons weren't realistic, the jails in a regulair city composed of what 3/4 cells, ... Even the Imperial Dungeon there were only a couple of cells you could visit, it just didn't make sense ... Not even a imperial prison, or a mental asyleum .... For the fun of it ...

You were the only prisoner in the cells except a couple of quest involved characters ...

A dungeon alive system could be way more 'realistic' .... And corrupted guards and the like ...

Not say i couldn't life with the Oblivion or even Morrowind jailing system, a bit more 'interactive' prison system would be nice.

Ya...
Oh wow I'm in jail...

*Turns game of and frisby's it at someone walking past the house*

If being forced to sit around and do nothing in a game is your idea of fun, I suggest you open the front door and go for a walk.

Sounds pretty bad to me. maybe a jail sequence or two instead of an instant release. A few (skippable) chances to escape other than hiding a lockpick up your ass.

Yeah, I guess it sounds exciting. Let's see...

Wake up at 5am. Guards bring breakfast. Eat breakfast, go back to sleep.
11:30am, wake up, guards bring lunch. Eat lunch, let's see what's on tv. Oh, wait, no tv in Skyrim.
Stand around till dinner at 4:30pm. Eat dinner.
Rec time at 7:30pm. Go back inside at 8:30 pm.
Lights out at 10:30pm. Sleep till 5am.
Start all over again.

Yup, can't wait to play me some Skyrim jail sim.

Yeah, that would be bad. But I figured in this sim, they don't really have showers. No bathing in the Skyrim prison system.
