I need a bunker or cool secret base to call home

Post » Tue Sep 28, 2010 1:46 am

The Novac hotel room is not a fitting place for me  . It is getting very boring and I need somewhere hidden/under ground, some bat cave stuff, something really cool where I can actually lay my weapons out nicely but I haven't found that place. It also must be easy to go in and go out. I dont have the dlc so it needs to be accessible without that.

if you get dead money, you can claim the abandoned BOS bunker, but other than that, id agree with Mako Vlazkov

I have found the NCR Safehouse, but i read that Ranger Gomez comes in and will take things, I haven't found or seen her yet so i cant kill her. I will check out Vault 19 and try to get Dead Money DLC, but I cant right now because I have a dead wallet lol.

There is Vault 3...all you gotta do is deal with it's current inhabitants.

I mostly just use the Lucky 38 Presidential Suite. It's got plenty of non-respawning containers and your companions can gather there. Kind of svcks that they drank all my Victory, though. Plus I just like fancy stuff.

Yeah, like the others said, just clear out one of the vaults, decorate abit, and you'll have your "batcave".

The only cave I can think of that matches your requirements is the
Spoiler
http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/The_Prospector%27s_Den
. It's got lots of storage , a radio, a jukebox, work benches (might just be a reloading bench), proper beds and even a bar of sorts. The downside is you'd have to get rid of the bodies of the occupants you had to kill to acquire it and there are two loading screens to get into the accommodation.

I belive its because the east coast vaults were late stage construction and the mid west was older *crappier models* some around those lines its located in the vault tec section of the wiki.Although in all honesty if the game was real the nuclear explosions would of leveled them easily lol.non reinforced ceilings=crap

scan your face on all floors in the REPCONN headquarters(science and luck needed) and there you go, Your very own base with your own robot guards,If i remember corectly there is a safe(check if this safe for storage)with energy ammo on top of the safe, near where you get a unique weapon.

Might want to get rid of surrounding fiends and NCR.

The cave on Mount Charelston above Jacob's Town would be perfect. Has a Fast Travel Marker. There is a nice room at the back with shelves and storage and supplies. If you have the Animal Friend perk, the Night Stalkers are like little puppies and may even follow you around. There is also some supply caves near Camp Forlorn Hope Bitter Springs. Go up the hill past the camp.

I use the Yangzee (no idea how to spell/say it) memorial. No storage, but just drop a few bottles of water in there, some ammo, and chems and done. Easy to find ytoo with the giant white cross. But I rarely am in the area.
Set a few safehouses up.
Kill the ncr one.
The BoS one.
The legion one.
I dont know about the followers if they take things.

Also do arcades quest, I dont know if its safe but remenants bunker is a nice place.

I'm surprised nobody's mentioned Harper's Shack. That's what I use as my house. It's got a TON of storage and everything else you need. All containers are safe inside and outside. It's in a decently remote location too.

Inside
5 Lockers
6 Crates
3 Ammo Boxes
1 Toy Box
3.5 Shelving Units (I say 3.5 cause one leans a little)
3 Tables
Reloading Bench
Work Bench
Bunk Beds

Outside
3 Crates
3 Prickly Pear Cacti Plants
Camp Fire

The Prospectors Den is the coolest one I found , I like the shack next to the Yangzee memorial to also. I am currently using Hapers shack Its right next to dead wind Caverns to the north west. No fridge but it has plenty of storage and benchs plus a camp fire right next to the shack. Sometimes my neighbors kids (Baby Deathclaws) will wonder into my yard, thats why I fill my tard with land mines.

I've never had any Deathclaws come all the way down there. I've had three characters that used that place as a home too. I still lace the perimeter of it with mines just to be safe though.

Well I already settled at the NCR safe house, but I found a nice two floor shack it is the Coyote Mines House. It has good storage and everything there was a few ghouls outside but i killed them. But since there is a lot more housing options which we dont know about, maby I could start a new thread with just listing of all housing.

I always live at Harper's and had the same experience until my last character -- ED-E, that little floating psycho, riled up the neighbors and I ended up with problems like Caligula. Eh, it wasn't bad. Target practice. Eventually I let them chase me down the hill to where the train tunnel is and killed them there.

I agree that we need to make a list on the forums of liveable/house areas and set them into types like Vacant(no one nearby or inside),occupied (neutral or enemies neaby/inside), dangerous(like deathclaws, super mutants,Traps ect.).
