Game is playing better since the patch

Post » Thu Sep 30, 2010 1:57 pm

Okay,
I know I got mad and was upset when the patch came out and complained that game frozed within 15 mins in another thread,, but after venting my frustration on playing Castlevania and other game I decided to give Fallout: New Vegas a 3rd chance and this morning around 7:am I go to put disk in, and I am embarrassed that I got mad for nothing because there was a dirty smear streak on my game disk  and I did not notice it was dirty when I gave the patch the first try.

To make it short, I cleaned my game disk and ran a lens cleaner in my PS3 (I don't know how my disk got dirty because I usually make sure my hands are cleaner than doctors hands when putting in a game when I can) and from this morning until around 6:pm (a couple breaks here and there for dinner and errands) the game no did not freeze up on me and it seems the Rad Scorpions no longer "swim" thru the ground so it appears the patch did a some good.

The only things I noticed wrong that I hope gets fixed is that:
* When I run and jump, screen still gets "choppy" and lags, and at times when going back to old areas it still gets a little lag (but not every 30 to 50 steps)

Other than that,

Not to butt kiss Obsidian and Bethesda, but thanks for making fast patches that actually helps and for what its worth you calmed down at least one customer and now I am able to enjoy the game. So as they say "kudos" for making things right.

Anyone else feel the game got better?

Also, I am gaming on a PS3 old "Fat" system with a 320gig HDD

I am sure there are some like me who was raging mad :swear: like I was but since the patch I am sure some are a lot happier and now can resume playing this game like me :tops: :fallout: So whether you a 360, PC or PS3 gamer, lets show we are happy now (or getting happy and appreciate the efforts for them trying to fix this game :goodjob: )

p.s.
I if it helps my compliment to Bethesda and Obsidian, The Mysterious Stranger did not cause my game to freeze at all (yet) and he is still the best video game perk I ever seen.

that was a typo, It had said 6048 mgs in the info file on my PS3, but I am checking it now,

Either way I am going to edit that because when I downloaded it from PSN store I am sure it said "28 megs" but who knows,

Thanks for pointing that out,

I've been one of the fortunate few that's been pretty bug free fortunately. I got the little white dots and NPC lag initially, but the dots are gone and I'm using the .dll file temporary fix until the NPC thing is officially fixed. I've had a couple of CTD's here and there, (mostly when far textures switch to near it seems to me) but I've learned from FO3 and Oblivion that saving often is your friend so it's like second nature to save, save, save. The biggest bug I've had was getting stuck in The Thorn and I've got in roughly 80 hours between 2 characters so I've been fortunate so far. (crosses fingers!)

But as to your main point, it's very good of you to say that and shows a LOT of class! Cheers to you for doing so. :foodndrink:

Thanks Balok,
I still feel kind of silly that the problem was kinda my fault when I tried the new patch for the first time.

As for the memory data space,, err I checked and all is normal now.

I was so hooked all day that time flew quickly.

At least Bethesda and Obsidian does appreciate customers, unlike some companies that messed over their customers ( I am a victim of Aliens vs Predator PS3 game, and Ghostbusters glitched me from ever getting platinum) and I hope that they continue to help fix the game more.

Also why can't folks see that they released a patch in a weeks time? thats pretty fast for a massive game this big, while others gets no patches or repairs.

well,
I got to get back to doing things before I stay awake all night.

Actually, it would be 6,291,456 KB in 6GB. And 6,144KB in 6MB.

There are 1,024 bytes to a KB, 1,024 KB to a MB, 1,024 MB to a GB, etc.

Trust me, I have 100 in Science on this game. :)
