Real life gun repair skill

Although I'm really disappointed there were no .45 colt or ACP firearms, the 9mm looking like a M1911 is pretty cool. I own a .45 ACP 1911 myself, even the 9mm 1911 is pretty accurate and a lot more powerfull than the game's version though.

You can tell a lot of research went into the weapons part, I wished they added more to it and made it more complex. They have lathes and drill presses near some of the work benches, so I think they might have been toying with more ideas to expand on it. Like, add forging and casting, with all the scrap metal lying around that would have been perfect.

I found a site that has the feel of what I was looking for, http://www.weaponeer.net/forum/ they show you how to forge parts, make barrels, what metals to use, types of finishes, engraving, even gives links to official sites with parts, for real weapons, not homemade junk.

You can tell the devs have a love for that type of thing.

Do you think they'll expand on it in the next games? The Gun Runners could have used a little more depth at least.

Where do you think they got all of their information from?

I feel ya, but as a gun non-expert, the adding of all the new ammo aptions is confusing enough as it is.

For me at least, it seems more like ripe pickins for a good mod.

I have to agree. This is as complex as it's going to get in a mainstream title.

I have no doubt on the other hand that the gun nut modders are going to run with what's been added to this game. If you're not playing the PC version I pity you.

The reason why the 9mm in New Vegas looks like a 1911, is because it was also designed by John Browning. It's a Browning Hi-Power.

To me it kinda feels like they were going to make hardcoe rely heavily on reusing your old casings then dropped it. Kind of a Mad Max style of there really isnt much ammo at all. Use your guns as a last resort.

I would flip if they added short/long bows, crossbows, throwing weapons (tomahawks FTW!!) into the mix and take out 75%+ of ammunition in game (say as the hard mode). This is the south west, needs more native american influence imo. Plus going a ninja rought without a short bow or poison tipped blowgun doesn't feel right

That would be pretty cool, but it might get far too complicated pretty quick. I would love to be able to fiddle with the weapons, doing this to it would increase damage, but greatly increase wear. Or if you go too far, having a catastrophic failure.

All I know is I was thoroughly thrilled when I put a scope on my 9MM (don't judge, I like scope, it's how I roll) and it was mounted the way you'd actually see one mounted IRL.

Mmmmm, titanium tipped armor piercing bolts firing from a mechanized compound bow. Tension propelled grenades from a futuristic style crossbow. Radioactive fluid filled syringe from a blowgun.... tiny C4 charges ever :D This is what id make in a post apocaplyptic wild west.

Dynamite is a great addition. Now duct tape it to a reinforcied arrow and launch it from certain advanded bows. A lot of things they could of done.

oh man, I just thought of something, being able to use duck tape as a used item.....instead of reverse-pick pocketing live grenades or dynamite, maybe be able to duck tape unlit dynamite, then wait till they get a certain distance and just shoot it with a silenced .22. No getting caught, and no one shooting at you after.

I wished I had the game for PC, I would mod in engravings like crazy. Maria is all I use now.
