Anywhere to get a haircut or plastic surgery

Post » Mon Oct 04, 2010 10:25 am

Would really like to change my hair and maybe get rid of the beard, so did anyone come across a place yet?
I've only got into Novac so far but I don't see any stylists.

I know of a place to get a haircut but just in case anyone gets on to me for it since you have to deal with a quest in order to get access to it I'm going to mark it as a spoiler.

Spoiler
Once you get to Freeside, look up the king. Do his G.I. Blues quest and you will get one favor from him. If you choose to become a member of the kings you can get free haircuts from a guy named Sergio.

If you're on the PC you can hit the ~ key and use the command "player.showracemenu" without the quotations to edit your appearance at any time.

I understand there not being many options to have your face changed. Would be weird if every town had a vendor for that, but haircuts? Come on. There should be someone who is at least willing to cut hair, even if begrudgingly, in every town. Do you really expect me to believe that in 271 years, even given a different timeline, people don't regularly cut their damn hair?!

WARNING: If you're using this console command on the PC apparently it deactivates all of your perks and you need to add them through the console to turn them back on. This is what it says on The Vault wiki page, but I'm not sure if it's confirmed or not. Definitely something to look into regardless, though if you do take this route.

Have you SEEN the haircuts of everyone that isn't a King? I'm assuming they all just find a mirror and use a knife to saw off the ends when their hair gets too long.

I think the haircut/surgery options were an oversight, which is a shame since I'm a PS3 user. Could have at least added another robot that cuts hair, one hairstylist in the Mojave does not cut it for me :sadvaultboy:

I've been looking for once since launch, having grown tired of my Cheesy-70s-pormo-Actor mustache. I've also been googling the hell out of it, finding similar threads on at least 5 other forums. Nobody seems to have found one...

Spoiler
other than the Kings stylist, who most people lock themselves out of without even realizing it.

Either there is only one, or the others are extremely well hidden. It is very frustrating, since I do not want to use the console for any reason, especially something frivolous like a haircut.

And I was ridiculed for caring about my char's appearance. It seriously does bug the hell out of me when my char looks goofy and unfit for my RP. Glad I got him right...after TWO HOURS of face creation. I doubt there's a way to re-do our faces in the game.

Of all the things I found sort of lack-luster about FO3 I thought it was a very nice touch that they had the option to modify your character's appearance so easily.

In FO3 there was a guy who could change your face under rivet city.

He was apart of the replicated man questline. (IMO one of the best side quests.)
