Over the edge - a journey off the edge of the map!

edit:This is the ps3 version for ref.

INVISIBLE WALLS MY &$%! :brokencomputer:

Was in the top NW corner of the map wandering through that enormous desert looking bit when I saw what looked like a fortress in the mountains, kept going towards it for about half an hour to realise it was just an unrendered texture and that I'd left the edge of the map. Kept walking and walking and walking (maybe same distance as the map is tall again) off the top of the map and finally came to the edge of land. Just a sheer drop into what I later found to be the ocean! Unfortunately dropping from that height even into water seems to = instant death, although on one of my jumps he must have been alive briefly as the rad meter popped up.

If anyone wants to have a look at this I've saved overlooking the edge (it is okay to link to an upped save here right??)

This happen to anyone else? I've seen a ton of complaints about invisible walls, but never a lack of them!

Damn man. You were really westward bound, weren't you? Reaching the Pacific Ocean like that.

I myself haven't experienced this, because I haven't bothered to explore the edges of the map yet.

And yes, linking to a save should be alright. It's not like you're linking to a shady .exe file or a page that likes to hand out malware.

EDIT: SCRATCH THAT I AM IN THE WATER AND ALIVE!!!

Ha yeah I figure I've walked about the length of the map again to reach that point.

The edges there are really strange though. If you walk off you can see a 2d surface layer and then sort of a flat block underneath, its possible to drop off and push towards the block and end up back on the top. For a while I was sure the ocean was getting closer whenever I did this and everything was moving down somehow. Still looks loads closer but I gave up after a while incase it was wishful thinking...was hoping to see how far out I could swim :turtle:

Massive double post apologies but...

1) The water seemingly goes on forever (15 mins due north then rad poisioning death)
2) you can go along the edge of the map in the water and then push against the edge and appear at the top of the cliff, thus effectively you can swim to any outer edge of the map around the outside and blip back onto land!!

3) Water save: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=UI9D2BH5
