Using one handers with 2

Post » Sat Oct 16, 2010 2:18 pm

This is probably just one of my stupid ideas but... it might be cool if you could use both hands while using a single one hand weapon with no magic. So basically you could wield a larger broadsword (like the elven sword in OB) with both hands for more damage and maybe some different effects like knock back and not staggering as often when blocking compared to blocking with just a weapon normally. This likely wouldn't make sense for maces and especially daggers in most cases, but it may be cool for swords.

Well...if that made any sense, your thoughts? Also if this is really stupid or has been asked before... my bad

Assuming that is not him doing a power attack (or something else that may cause him to temporarily use both hands) then yes. Thanks, that helps and is likely the actual wielding style I imagined

For all we know that's just the blocking animation for if you only have a single-handed weapon equipped.

If you're going to do that, why not just use a two-handed weapon?

because dovahkiin was fighting the draughers (undead nords, cannot spell) with the same weapon and using it with one hand

So you can quickly equip a shield or some magic if you want to and still be able to use your sword.

The dragur swarm pic looks like he's holding it in a defending stance, like a block. Blocking with a 1H weapon with the other hand not holding something may by default cause the offhand to grab hold of the blade.

I'll say there's a two-hands-on-a-onehander ability once I see an attack with both hands on the weapon.

Speed.

A shorter lighter blade is always going to be more agile.

It would be nice to use a Katana the way it was meant to be used :)

(which means, yes I agree)
