Where are these images coming from?

I have never seen them before.

I saw those screenshots in the June issue of GameInformer.
Page 66 to be exact.

graphics aren't on par with Crysis or BF3 at a technical aspect, but the art-style/direction is easily superior.

Srsly, http://img593.imageshack.us/img593/1589/skyrim01.jpg is just gorgeous art.

My feelings the same.

Art? I like the art of the house, really do.
Don't really like the "art" of the rocks though. Looks unnatural and... just... strange. It's hard to explain but I've mentioned it before :P
I don't like the "art" of the grass either. The grass colour should be more "bleak" so that it fits better with the ground colour.

My honest opinion about the "art" :P

That's the shot i was thinking about when i said the textures look shallow.
But i believe Skyrim's art direction sort of makes up for its apparent technical shortcomings.

I agree. Rocks looks too much like Oblivion (or at least, Oblivion with QTP3). They may be a big change from Vanilla Oblivion to Skyrim, but for mod users with heavily tweaked graphics (like me :D) the change is not SO impressive.

Looks like it could be Saddleworth Moor in Northern England, I used to go walking there and rock formations do look like that.
The art of the rocks and grass are close to perfect for the 'plains land' in an open and windswept place.
