Asthetic Charisma idea

Post » Sat Oct 30, 2010 6:07 am

This is just a random little side thought that could be added to DLC.

Different levels of charisma would unlock new hair styles/ facial hair.

I was dissapointed that there weren't really any new haircuts in fallout; nv. This would be a great way to add them and make charisma more interesting at the same time.

There should also be a barber on the strip. (If there is I haven't found him)

There's a barber around that area (don't want to spoiler?). I was kind of disappointed that the character construction was the same as F3, even though I knew there were no big changes in that area of the game, a little jazzing up of something like the hairstyles would've been nice.

I came across a camp barber somewhere but can't recall where. sry.

yeah more hairstyles would be nice but imho, hats kinda ruin that idea.
I think there should be some sort of bonus for having no hat. to encourage..well decent hair, or that kinda thing

Yeah, I've got a thought.

If you're wearing anything on your head you get -1 charisma.

Or

not wearing a hat causes +1 charisma.

This actually makes alot of sense. People like to see well groomed face/hair.

I'd rather just have more hair styles available from the start without the need to unlock them with charisma. But honestly, I wouldn't want a DLC just to add new hairstyles anyway, it doesn't seem like enough to warrant being DLC to me. If they want us to pay for extra content, they'd better provide something that's worth paying for, and I just don't think a few new hair styles are worth paying for. If they're going to release downloadable content, they should release new quests or locations, though I wouldn't object if DLC adding that also came with new hairs, I guess.

It is unfortunate that there's no new hairstyles in the game, though, since that's a change I'd think they could easily make. If they can add many new models for enemies, weapons, armor, items, statics, and so on, I don't see why we couldn't get a few more hairs to choose from.

This actually makes alot of sense. People like to see well groomed face/hair.

But a hat may also be considered attractive under certain situations.

I am absolutely in love with the idea of a trait like Four Eyes that rewards/penalizes Charisma based on display of your lustrous mane.

And I too am shocked by the lack of barbers. Looking forward to meeting one. I always start with a haircut appropriate to where my PC is coming from in the hopes of getting an appropriate haircut later (i.e., well groomed to shaggy as you trudge into the Wasteland in Fallout 3, and shaggy to well groomed ... or so I hoped ... as I made the trek into the fancier parts of Vegas).

Maybe you would get -1 if you wore a hat except if you happen to be wearing http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Pre-war_Hat_(Fallout_New_Vegas)
