How far can I go without ending the game for myself?

I'm a good chunk of the way into the main quest, with Benny hiding out at the Fort and the Dam gearing up to receive the President. What I want to know is this: If I go to the Fort with Boone, fight my to Caesar, and kill him, will that set off a series of events that ends the game?

I just want to go kill Caesar, do Boone's quest, and have some high-level fun having royally [censored] the Legion. Will fighting my way to and killing Caesar have repercussions to the main quests, such as negating the fight at the Dam, or rolling the credits?

Absolutely not, this is not Mass Effect 2. ;) Do ALL the quests you want first then end the game cause there's no goin' back.

Me and Boone did this, it was a blast and doesn't affect the game at all. Make sure you talk to Boone after Caesar is dead.

Thanks, guys. Next time I have time to fire-up the Xbox, Ima kill Caesar's sorry ass. I've tried it before and failed, so this will be satisfactory now that I have good gear (Hunting shotgun, The "All American" marksman carbine). I'll prolly go for a barrel-magazined riot-shotgun and a sidearm before I go back.

Might even get armor and an Anti-Material rifle or a Sniper rifle (the Gobi, maby?) for Boone to ensure that he stays alive.

I always give Boone the All-American and then I have no worries. He's a beast with it and it's better than the vanilla Gobi. Good luck. :)

Hmmm....I don't want to give it up, but I suppose it would be good with me riot-shotgunning up front while he keeps them off of me with it.
