I think the difference would be PC vs. XBOX. I don't want to talk about it until we see PC screens.

BTW,

I never seen better real time graphics in my life.

...dary.

The change is actually quite dizzying.

You posted oblivion screenshots that were obviously from a game running on low quality settings on PC...

???

It's fortunate that I've seen the trailer, because if I would go by the pictures, it feels like Oblivion all over again. (Not the graphic quality. The artwork.)

If you checked my posts in this thread, you would see I actually think Skyrim screens are already as low quality as they can. That wolf won't magically stop looking [censored] or that NPC won't magically stop being a bloated potato in a max out Oblivion.

Is it just me, or does the http://img811.imageshack.us/img811/1589/skyrim01.jpg remind anyone else of http://lotr.wikia.com/wiki/Rohan from Lord of The Rings

if the Gameplay is only important and graphics dont matter that much then every game would be made in ASCII graphics.

I look at it this way.
Video games are like girls.
How they look is what gets your attention, but how they behave will determine how long you stick with them.

Why are we still stuck in 2006 graphics when it's 2011?

another person crying because his $500,000 computer's power is being wasted cause his games' graphics arent giving him spasmic orgisms?

why the [censored] does everyone care so much about graphics?

i suppose bethesda could just make TES6 be a completely crap-game and focus on the graphics being so intense that we die from viewing such hyper-realism in the game.

that is what you want, right? a crappy game with no gameplay, but intense graphics that cause death upon sight?

cause thats what it sounds like.

Nice ad hominem.

You're implying that all games with hyper realistic graphics have terrible gameplay. This is false. Rather, why not have both? Incredible graphics combined with great gameplay. The graphical advance between morrowind and oblivion was drastically greater than that between oblivion and skyrim. It's not insane to point that out.

I didn't think of it that way, neat.

Surely, we'd find more cheer in a graveyard looking at it.

Graphics aren't bad looking, the advance is in animations and how everything moves dynamically. Oblivion wasn't that good looking and had horrible performance overall...

I think it's about right.

I don't think it's too bright. And by the way, that river is DEFINATELY not the same depth as the river you suggested. The river in the screenshot is much more shallow.

Todd never implied such a thing... he has stated numerous unclear answers like "Not in the way you're thinking" and another one that actually said "No."

True enough. Sorry guys, I was being overly critical of the graphics. The defocussed close foliage annoyed me personally. But the rest of the images were really good.

It actually is, surprisingly. you can see the river stones on the bottom in the image even where it is really dark green if you look carefully. The river is really shallow in that rapid area, and its not dark green there. I've driven past that corner of the river regularly, and you can often see fishermen at that corner trout fishing, standing in the middle of the river with the water only up to their knees.

In my opinion, that picture of the river in the screen shot looks wrong. The moss is not lime green enough to create that lime green water, and the water is too shallow for the lighter green to result from a darker green (or even for the water not to be VERY transparent) To me, that water looks like it's run-off into a millpond or it's run off FROM a millpond. It certainly does not look like "healthy" water should.

I love the attention to detail in the rest of the image though.

The skyrim pics are from a 360. So it would make sense to post pics that were of similar quality...
