Guns AND Energy Weapon Build?

Post » Thu Nov 11, 2010 12:21 pm

Any replies of advice are greatly appreciated :).

Current Stats:

LVL: 12

Barter: 55
Energy Weapons: 19
Guns: 86
Lockpick: 57
Repair: 53
Science: 22
Speech: 40

Caps: 7267

In the main quest, I'm somewhere around Ring-a-Ding-Ding! (/G.I Blues).

After seeing the Silver Rush and wiki'ing some of the later weapons I am missing out on - do you think it is worth it to place most of the next skill pts I receive into EW?

Play normal and I am saving Melee/Unarmed for another char :).

seems okay i suppose, i think at that stage sticking to either guns or energy weapons is better than being moderate with both. but imho i'm terrible for being "the jack of all trades and the master of none".
also speech is pretty important for some quests. but i suppose this could be worked around with decent lockpick and/or science.

Also i would add after this character playing the game through on hardcoe is quite interesting, and makes survival stats actually important in some respects.

Don't.
Choose another support skill instead.
EW has three good weapons at lvl 20+.
There's no point in raising both.

Hmm.

Well I reached 100 guns on my arrival to LVL 13, so after I bump up my Speech and a few others I think I may as well start heavily concentrating on EW until I get to about 70, because I'm planning on leveling this char to 30 before I create another, and within that time I'd probably enjoy utilizing things like the Alien Blaster. In summary, I'll probably end up leveling EW anyway.

Thanks for all the advice, guys :).

If you play on hardcoe Mode I'd suggest Medicine.
It greatly improves the heal over time.

If not then don't bother with it, just buy a lot of stimpacks and pump em like crazy like in Fallout 3.
