just finished the game, i played as nice as i could to everyone. it seems the NCR are everywhere and it would be impossible to play the game as an enemy of the NCR. has anyone went against the NCR early?

. Key thing. Don't go shooting them up. Work against them till things are set then shoot them up.

unless NPCs attack you, you don't have to attack them. not everyone is the game is your enemy, or rather out to get you at get go.

At the beginning of the game ALL factions are neutral to you. (except the independant mauraders such as the Fiends, Vipergang, Convicts, etc.)

If you sided with the Legion, eventually they would be everywhere.

You can still go to the independant towns like goodsprings and novac if you're enemies with NCR

Siding with the Legion will make the game a lot harder, if take quests that put you at odds with the NCR early. However if you put those quests of until you are well into the Legions quests leading up to the Hoover Dam battle you should be alright.

The House and Yes-Man quests, don't really put you at odds with the NCR, there's one thing leading up to the final mission and one point in the final mission, which could make the NCR hostile, but that's avoidable.
