Why you are keep saying that skyrim is an open world game when everything from dungeons to cities are closed to cells and don't communicate with each other like in Morrowind? Morrowind was true an open world game, oblivion&skyrim aren't, that's why levitation spell is gone.

The only city of real size in Morrowind was Vivec, and that was separated into closed cells. The dungeons were also closed cells. Small settlements in Oblivion were as open as Pelagiad, its just that none of them were quite that large.

I think by open they mean you can go anywhere in the game pretty much at the start, including the caldera of Red Mountain (assuming you survive the trip).

a game like elder scrolls already has everything such as gameplay, customization, combat, the list goes on, so graphics are important because the rest of the game is already amazing/will be amazing

They sure as heck help. Its just another aspect of many that make a game, there is nothing wrong with wanting bethesda to make the most of what they can do instead of holding back.

Its just like I wanting to have the best story telling possible, and we all know they can improve on this as well.

graphics don't make out the game. for example, people like morrowind more then oblivion. Oblivion graphics are better. But the people that like morrowind prefer the game play from morrowind more. if you like graphics over gameplay just watch movies.

I will say this comparing a fast paced FPS were your to busy dieing and respawning to enjoy the graphics to a rpg is just silly and dumb. RPG you enjoy the graphics.. Graphics do matter and they dont. If it has awesome graphics then the gameplay svcks and the story suffers are you still going to play it? No. Youre not. Also the PC version of COD looks oh so much better than the console because the PC can handle it and can be adjusted so it can handle it. I compared CODBOPS to the PC version I honesty say I would prefer to play on PC because the camo grass and overall textures were so much better Plus AA helped out alot oh and high res screen.

Anyways why are you people comparing TW2 A PC game to console generated screenshots? I dont understand the comparison. When you port somthing over it suffers greatly in texture quality. Does not matter how many polygons you have if the textures svck they it makes the models svck. Also the 3d models get turned down too so the console can handle it. Turn TW2 to low or medium and see the differances. I dont mean customized low or medium I mean select the low or medium option without changing any other options and thats pretty much how it will look like.

Peferct Dark 360 looks way better than the older N64 version. But why is this all that really changed was texture quality... Oh thats right a better system was able to handle more so they were able to recreate the textures in high resolution silly me.

IF you like game-play over graphics/story, go do some live action role-playing/join the military.

If you like story over game-play/graphics, go read a book.

See what I'm saying?

Well from the screens we have seen so far from in game, definitely skyrim doesn't stand a chance!
In TW2 the forest feels real, in skyrim it is so poor.

I love The Witcher series and CD Projekt in every comprehensible way, but I disagree about that comparison. Skyrim's environments depend upon fully-modeled and detailed trees, which can be seen up close, from above, and the like. What I'm seeing in that screenshot is basically a bunch of ungainly tree trunks and some alpha texture leaf canopies, partially obscured by the fog. It's far less impressive as far as raw visual fidelity goes.

No?

The detail and lighting in that Witcher screen is some of the best graphics I've ever seen. Meanwhile, it's kind of hard to tell what you're looking at in the middle of the Skyrim screenshot. It's obviously supposed to be bushes but it looks like a jumble of pixels.

You do know the skyrim is console screenshot and the TW2 screenshot is on a PC with max graphics and TW2 was built for the PC. So downgrade that 2 half and you get the console version.

So Skyrim can have Morrowind-level graphics, and no one should voice their displeasure?

You do know the PC version of Skyrim won't look all that better than the console shots we've seen so far? Why should Skyrim PC at max settings look not much better than The Witcher 2 on medium settings?

most people prefer morrowinds art style which is part of the "graphics". graphics isnt just about using the latest greatest lighting and texture tricks. its about how the game presents itself. one of the reasons i like shivering isles over cyrodil was because of the art style even though it used the same shaders and texture resolutions. morrowind had much better art direction than oblivion, i was far more creeped out in some of the morrowind ruins than i ever was in any oblivion ruin. graphics make a huge deal i just think people are forgetting there is more than one aspect to it. :)

Hmmm...

Saying Skyrim has Morrowind-level graphics is stretching it a bit too far, wouldn't you say?
