Big monsters

Post » Thu Nov 18, 2010 8:40 pm

There are legendary and named monsters, that are elite forms of other monsters, if that makes sense?

I don't think there are behemoths in game. It wouldn't really make sense for them to be in this game, unless they enjoyed ridiculously long strolls across the wasteland....

It wouldn't really be THAT long because their bigger you see. And because their bigger, each stride they take will be longer than the average human so the travel time will be cut down considerably.

So the 'lore' says Nightkin can't get crazy ideas of creating creatures? they are already pretty [censored] up considering he was talking to a skull in the rocket place :whistling: I could imagine them trying to re create one of the monsters by experimenting poorly with radiation on humans, ghouls ect.

I don't see the big deal..

Nope. Lore doesn't say that.
But let me ask you this, has anyone in real life who was truly crazy as bat[censored] ever done scientific experiments and had positive results?
Consider now that these guys are strong as hell and probably don't even know their strength and will most probably break some equipment due to their size.
Also consider that this is an apocalyptic wasteland, so where would they get the resources and know-how to complete this project?

But it it true, you are saying because it would be hard IRL to get things it will be on the game but this game isn't realistic because it is set in a dystopian apocalyptic world, also if a bunch of Ghouls can use rockets then I'm sure knightkin can experiment poorly on things.

Oh stop being so [censored] negative, anything could happen as this game isn;t real and has super mutants, monsters that are hybrids of each other ect ect ect.

Im going to have to agree. Far to negative on a game with extreme creatures.

I can see in DLC, the enclave expermenting on them with some new chemical. And adding a control device similar to the one in Fallout 3. And using them to try and take over the new vegas area.

But im sure thats not a good idea either.

I guess you people are happy with a few upgrades to existing enemies which don't really have a huge difference about them :) shame.

.......... ok ...

See, in my opinion, all a Behemoth really is, when you get down to it, is a big supermutant with a club.
So in affect, an Behemoth is an upgraded existing enemy, which doesn't really have a massive difference about it.

Behemoth's difference is it is alot bigger, with more health.
http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Legendary_cazador's difference is that it is alot bigger, with more health,
http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Legendary_deathclaw's difference is that it is alot bigger, with more health,
http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Legendary_Fire_Gecko's difference is that it is alot bigger, with more health,
http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Legendary_night_stalker's difference is that it is alot bigger, with more health,

What are you complaining about again?

That there aren't any random intimidating enemies, sure death claw and butterflys, meh, why not a Mutated Behemoth that has killed a tribe of Nightkin and become Stealth because of it?

Ghouls are nothing like Super Mutants.
Ghouls are just like humans, only slightly decaying.
A ghoul can be as intelligent as humanly possible because it is possible.
Super Mutants who were created from wastelanders on the other hand, can't. They will always be dumb.
Nightkin could be intelligent, that is true.
But they're still going to be bat[censored] crazy.
Which won't really help and will most likely make the project fall apart.

BUT! A Pure Super Mutant could.
That is possible.
A Pure Super Mutant can be as intelligent as humanly possible and then some.
But they are in short stock.

There are four legendary animals mutations, sort of like "bosses" of the wasteland.

There could easily be a level headed Nightkin, such as Marcus who appears at the front gate of Jacobstown, he could have started an experiment to see what the necessary steps where for the Behemoth to grow so huge, he could easily be occupied by the doctor who also occupies jacobstown, whilst they where into the higher stages of the radiation/behemoth test or whatever test.

The Nightkin from the Repconn test site could have found a huge storage of Stealth boy MK II's and travelled to Jacobstown as word of mouth was a problem that he mentioned, Neil could have told him about the place, so Marcus sees this amount of Stealth boys and overcomes to temptation and starts to use them constantly whilst still in his experiment which would then see it deteriorate from sane to insane to bat [censored] crazy.

During the experiment, the doctor tells Marcus (or level headed nightkin) and co that they shouldn't be dabbling in this sort of creation as it is playing god, Marcus being insane at this point, murders the doctor and Calamity and proceeds onwards into his experiment, clearly being new he gets frustrated and uses radiation in a high amount, the Behemoth reacts poorly to the amount used and escapes the sedations it would surely be under, it kills the Nightkin and therefore becomes Stealth, wandering the Wastes as a sort of legend.

You have to remember that while the Super Mutants of the west and east are quite similar, they are still very different groups. The east coast Super Mutants were created by man originally, in Vault 87. They also grow in size and strength as they age (at the cost of brain power) eventually becoming behemoths. The Super Mutants of the west coast originated at Mariposa and were created by "the Master". These are much more intelligent than their east coast counterparts, as well as being more stable in their mutated state. So basically, west coast Super Mutant Behemoths are highly unlikely to happen... at all... end of story.

Starting to sound better, but this isn't Marcus.
And Marcus isn't a Nightkin, he's a Pure/Prime Super Mutant.
And how would he know about Behemoths in the first place?
He's never heard of any East Coast super mutants.

And as Joeyheadwounds said, each coast has a different viral strain in them.
Even if they (West coast SM's) wanted to they couldn't become any bigger than what they already are.
Unless they get a Super Mutant Edition Power Armor, but the only one that existed lies in the bottom of the sea with Frank Horrigans skeleton in it.

And if you suggest a different viral strain specifically designed to increase the mammals size then how would he know how to create this?

On a positive note, mammals do increase in size when dipped in FEV, correct?
Okay, imagine if the V87 super mutant dipped a Yao Guai in their vats. O_o
I think that could have worked.
But still, you'd need FEV for that.
And the only FEV left on the west coast is Mariposa Military Factory who is most likely under control by either Shi or NCR.
And West-Tek AKA Glow which most likely has some dried up FEV in the bottom of it's broken vats.

So far I've only had to fight the deathclaw mother, and the radscorpian monster in that irradiated firehouse. Huge monsters both, and the mother definitely had a different skin than most deathclaws. Pretty damn cool, I thought.
