Vehicles in DLC

Nah. No need for vehicles. People are already complaining that "the map is too small", imagine how much smaller it would feel once cruising around it 50mph.

Absolutely not. Especially not in this engine.

This. FO3 had mods for vehicles, and it was pretty clear that the engine simply isn't set up to support vehicles.

Fallout 2 had vehicles. Can't remember if the rest had it. So it will only be a matter of time. Game makers aren't dumb enough to throw everything in the book on the first few games especially when they have a good series on hand. Features like these throw off bad reviewers/slaggers who go quickly go off the handle by generalizing about certain gameplay being identical to its predecessor.

Fallout 2 had a car which was only useful for fast travel on the world map. Fallout: Tactics had vehicles, but Tactics had maps designed for them and an engine optimized for them in the beginning. And it used sprites, rather than 3d. And it was top down/isometric, not first person.

I don't actually want to drive the car myself. I want to be able to fast travel to points on the roads on the map screen after using the car. An improved version of the option we had in Fallout2 (you could drive everywhere)

I would love to have a vehicle and just drive off into the desert if the game map wasn't as small as it is now. I already have no trouble walking back and forth between cities, I hardly use the fasttravel anymore. So a vehicle would only make things even easier. However it would be really nice tho...

So true.

And with how this engine handles traveling large distances at fast speeds, it wouldn't be long before we also have members riling up with "OMG!!! UR VEEHICLS MAEK MAH GAYUM CRASH!!! BETH/OBZIDAIN R FAIL DEVZ!!!"

Too much of large feature to implement effectively in a DLC. However in the next Fallout, a form of novelty transport (like a previous post suggested) would be very awesome indeed.

I don't think it would go well with the fallout games. sorry. I like the idea of walking/traveling through the wasteland.
