Dragons, Werewolves, and Vampires oh my!

Post » Thu Mar 03, 2011 7:53 am

I seriously want all werewolves, vampires, and dragons to be a big part of the shape shifting world and hopefully the story has some deep content like guilds and detailed missions and what not... but what would really be iceing on the shapeshifting cake is a druid class, for the everday shapeshifting, nothing crazy but lets say you change to a horse then you are your own transportation... oh and i how to god if you can shapeshift into a dragon a well done flying ability is coming with it. thoughts?

dragons WILL be, they are the antagonists after all.

as for vampires and werewolves, ZOMG you are the 9001st person to ask for this! I'd give you a fishy stick, but I'm not a forum veteran and I'm tired of hearing about this.

Shape shifting into a horse or dragon is a little far fetched.
But I'd like if the were wolves and vampires came back.

I hope you can't shapeshift into a dragon, though I'd love to see some shape shifting. Like into a hawk or something similar, a wolf, dog, maybe one of those horrible looking spiders that was in one of the game screenies, a bear and of course a squirrel or other such small speedy critter for escapes! xD

But yeah, no to dragon shapeshifting. Would instantly make you so massively over powered. Perhaps as an unlockable cheat after having finished the MQ or something, though disabling you from saving once you shift...

Kind of and old topic, but welcome to the forums anyways.

As for shapeshifting into a dragon and flying around, Todd stated in the Podcast that you won't fly on dragons because after all... they're the bad guys and I don't see how you could just hop on one's back and fly. So the Shapeshifting thing will most likely not be in as well.

well im almost certain there will be some dragon shapeshifting element to the game being a dragon born character, as i read in an article with todd howard were he hinted at the shapeshifting goal they were going for and used examples like the bloodmoon expansion from morrowind but he wouldn't confirm or deny shapeshifting into dragons, werewolves,or vampires, he talked about horses and whether they would make an appearance, he said he didn't want to bring the horses of oblivion back, he wanted to bring a more realistic and satisfying horse experience to skyrim and if they can't then he'd rather not have them at all, it would kill the flow of the game in his opinion.

If you're talking about the Podcast in Game Informer, he didn't say anything at all of Shapeshifting into a dragon.

When he was talking about bringing shapeshifting back (Maybe, not confirmed) That it will most likely be werewolves again, or werebeasts. Most likely not dragons, for they are the "bad guys."

No transforming into dragons. Simply can't be done. Dragons can shape shift into humans, but we can't change into dragons. What do you think the people of Skyrim would think if they saw their last hope change into a flipping dragon? It raises all questions like if we're really a dragon, or are we man/mer.

As for the others, meh. Never was big into changing into anything. If its in, I'll eventually get around to playing with it...but its not a necessity for me.

It might have been a podcast idk but i found it in the in an article in a Q an A form, and yes he doesn't mention shapeshifting into dragons but he doesn't mention shapeshifting into werewolves in this game either, he uses bloodmoon merely as an example for what there shooting for with this game and with dragons being the focus and a dragon born mentioned i could see the possible dragon shapeshifting, and the bad guys are full blown dragons, not dragon born, that would be a half dragon for all the nerds and geeks out there lol and so the characters form could possibly change into a dragon like beast with flying abilitys (im hoping). Its speculation, but its educationed speculation lol

Yeah, but Todd himself said in the Podcast that you will not be able to fly dragons in game, which probably means that you won't be able to fly in-game period. It would be neat though, but I don't see it happening.

Not necessarily. PR things, interviews and all that usually have very carefully chosen wordings on things. So sure he said you won't be able to fly dragons. That only means just that though, until otherwise confirmed of course. Did he mention you won't be able to fly as a dragon? Not that I want it, as mentioned above, but he hasn't said no to it to my knowledge.

I was considering that, but I just don't see you flying in Skyrim on a console version. Imagine all that data you'll have to load every time you fly a few miles super fast.

Thats the great part of the oblivion engine, it loads enviroment textures in game without stopping (like morrowind should of been, god my 2000 acrobatics was useless with the outdated stop and load setup) and with a lil work on the engine and more memory dedicated to loading texures while you fly then it could be pulled off, as some of the oblivion mods have proven.
