Which Quest Line will you start first?

Post » Sun Mar 06, 2011 5:19 am

I will start with the main quest. Once it has lead it to me most of the cities, or at least the main ones, I will wander finding random quests and probably level grinding. Once I get to a high enough level I will continue and finish the main quest. Then I will do more side quests and pick a favorite city (ex: Chorrol in Oblivion) and buy a house if I have sufficient funds. Then I will start the Fame guilds (gives you fame) and then determine if there is a way to lower infamy (such as the Knights of the Nine) If there isn't I probably will make a separate evil account. If there is I will do the DB and other infamous guilds. Then I will lower my infamy. That's most likely what I will end up doing.

I'll probably roam around without a goal in Skyrim for the first 20 hours or so, get to know the cities etc.

Yea I'll definitely be exploring for a while before I start any quests.

This kind of a hard question to answer since we don't know what quest lines are going to be in the first place. We know there will be guilds, but that's it.

How do you guys know what guilds there are and what names they have.
I've read the novel I know of the College of Whispers and the other one whos name I forgot.
But there is a time gap between the book and the game of about 150 years or so.
Personally I hope there is no Dark Brotherhood. They were to generically evil.
They should be Assassins for hire, not sociopaths for hire.

The Dark Brotherhood has been in Most of the Elder Scrolls game, so im 90% sure it will be in it

I'm somewhat torn myself. A part of me wants to ignore the main quest and do as much of the side quests and guild quests as I can first (like I did in oblivion), but I'm also anxious to see how good the main quest is.

Maybe I'll just mix it up.

After looting and exploring a bit, I'll go for the most convenient one around that gives me simple tasks for a little bit of gold. In Oblivion that was the Arena, and it allowed me to easily acquire a house early on in the game so that I can store the mindless amount of loot I gain in my adventures. In any case, I think I'll be leaning towards the Fighter's Guild, although I could complete two or three Main Quests just to get a feel of the story early on.

Same as I always do in these games. Pick a random point on the map and go there and be surprised by everything I see. Hand-holding through quests be damned, I will break your continuity!!

Dark brotherhood is already comfirmed... no hope left....

I will thirst just roll out in the game and see what the game brings me.

I will first play the evil guilds and then the good ones as for I got SPOILER thrown out of the mages guild when I stole the arrow off extracation of something from that one mage....

I will do random quests for different people as I explore some of the cities/environments, then once I get the feel for everything I will start with the MQ.

arena or a fighting tournament, those always pique my interest

Ah now i remember starting the Arena before i do anything else to up my fame.
i think ill start with the Dark Brotherhood though, Ive found the Arena to be way too fun to do that first.

Thieves guild of course. None of the other guilds will be relevant to my character.

I was hoping there would be more than 3 or 4 big guilds, like Morrowind. Is it confirmed there will only be 3 major guilds?

Anyway, I will do guilds first, thats what I did in MW and OB.

More than likely after aimlessly wondering around exploring and stealing what I can get away with I'll pick up the main quest line and pick up a few Dragon shouts before venturing onto other quests.

I'll probably explore for a long time before starting the fighters guild.

Since Daggerfall, the first thing I did after initial dungeon or whatever (Morrowind), was to join Mages Guild at least to gain an access to good spells and spellmaking services. Since we probably won't have neither spellmaking (Dark Ages indeed) nor Mages Guild in Skyrim, I either will try to join Synod / College of Whispers (depending on whim), or will just wander around, looking for more power, loot and fun for my character. Probably with some touching of Main Quest, especially if it would not be as invasive as it was in Oblivion.

Im going to play the game the way it comes, Im not going to rush a guild or the story im just going to do what ever comes up. Thats why I enjoyed oblivion so much, I was doing everything at the same time one quest would lead me somewhere and then I would find another quest and so on and so forth.

I will definitely start of roaming the world and getting a general feel for the game. I'll raid a few dungeons and get familiar with the combat as well. I'll then tap into the main quest for a little to get an understanding for the story. Once I've done all that, I'm finding me some dragons!!
