Everyone who is unsure whether they should get L4D2, I would definitely recommend it. I mean, imagine how much fun an all forum members versus match would be!

Steam weekend deal is Torchlight for only $5. I am switching banks so I don't have access to funds at the moment or I may consider buying this.

I've already got it from the Christmas sale. It's a great game. Would be a lot better if it had some multiplayer.

I didn't even finish one playthrough of it. The game has a lot of potential, but doesn't quite deliver. The gameplay is worthy of the Diablo series, but the story, atmosphere, and pacing fall short. It was just "kill Anonymous Boss #12 to get to the next level, where Anonymous Boss #13 awaits you" over and over again.

Torchlight is crap.

All you do is click click click click click everywhere. Story is: some bad guy wants to take over and J00 MUST STOP HIM!

It's boring and monotonous.

If you like organising spreadsheets, by all means buy it since you spend a ridiculous amount of time clicking items over to your pets inventory so he can take it all to town to sell.

My teacher told me about Torchlight for $5 on Steam. I want to get it, but I have some questions:

1. Everyone says it's good. Can you tell me what the game is a bout, and why it's good?

2. Will it run on a Laptop?

3. How do I buy it? Do I need to download Steam, or just go on the site and buy it?

Thanks :)

Don't know never played it, try the demo.
2. Will it run on a Laptop?
A laptop can be many things, we need more detailed information about the specs of your system before anyone can tell you if it will run or not, I'd try the demo anyway to make sure it can.
3. How do I buy it? Do I need to download Steam, or just go on the site and buy it?
You can go to the website and buy it or through steam to buy it. However, no matter which you do you need to download the Steam client and log on to your Steam account to download the game. If your concerned about it Steam does have an offline mode.
Thanks :)

Torchlight is a straight-up dungeon crawl, set in a sort of steampunk world. Basically, there's a town, and a hole in the ground. You keep going down this damn hole, level after level, killing things, leveling, buying equipment, doing random missions like "Kill X of Monster Y on Level Z" or "Kill Boss X on Level Y", all the while progressing a weak story that I don't even remember.

^This

Also, the combat is all clicking. As in, you click on your opponent to attack.. then you click to attack again, then again. Or if your really advanced you click and hold down the left mouse button to keep attacking instead of constantly clicking, spoils the mood of the game though when you can't hear your mouse going click click click click click

It's also one of the most stupidly easy games I have ever played. I was playing as the ranger/rogue and yet I could still take about 50 billion hits to the face before I had to use even a small health potion.

I personally thought Torchlight was good; there are better games but if you want a new diablo esquire hash n slash it's a lot of fun. Especially hardcoe mode on hard, that ramps up the tension.

Yea, guess I just couldn't click fast enough. Even so, the fact that I wasn't hampered in any way from constantly getting hit shows how easy the game is.

Don't buy it. Unless you like organising your inventory in rpg's, crappy almost non existent stories and combat that is just clicking on your opponent. You waste money if you buy it.

It's not a bad diablo clone. It's just boring in that you don't GO ANYWHERE. I've gotten a reasonable amount of fun out of it, and I reinstall it now and again. It looks pretty nice too. I'd say it's worth $5.

I thought people around here liked Torchlight. I'm surprised at all the negativity towards it. :P

Up the difficulty.

I played on Very Hard Hard Core and would die in a couple hits. Great action RPG but after I died on my level ~27 I stopped playing. I'm still mourning her loss.

Torchlight is a great hack'n slash dungeon crawler. It's one of those games you start playing one day and suddenly it's 6 hours later and you're yelling incomprehensible insults at your monitor while sweating profoundly. ^_^

Unfortunately, that's it, the game gets boring after you beat it for the first time. You could play it again with a different character but it won't be the same. The game has a meh story and not enough variety to keep you going. I still recommend it.

2. Will it run on a Laptop?

3. How do I buy it? Do I need to download Steam, or just go on the site and buy it?

1. See above ^

2. Yes, if it's a recent laptop

3. You can buy it on Steam or on the http://www.torchlightgame.com/. Steam is 5$ and the other version is 19.99$

What kind of DRM does Impulse have?
