First of all, I'm here again after a hella long absence. So, hi.

Anyway, some of you folks who have been around for a bit longer might remember my RP called "The Risen". It was pretty popular during the idea thread, but survived only to the half of part two, due to me not having time and people disappearing. So, I got this idea of re-making it again, partially because Christo_2992 asked me to.

The plot of the RP was that people around Tamriel got a strange power that transformed them into something different. Some changed only mentally, and then some would turn into wholly different beings. These transformations were triggered by something, and some of these "risen" learned to control the impulses. Some just went mad. The Risen could sense each other, and felt drawn to their kind.
The RP was about the Risen learning to command their power, trying to find out what they had in common, why did they get the ability etc.. Of course, there were feuds, struggles for power and such.

Overall, I think it was a nice RP before its tragic death. If some of you folks are interested, I'll make it up again.

:o I'm a big fan of special power type rps, but most aren't done very well. This sounds amazing, though. I don't know if I'd have time to, but I'd sure try! Please, make it. Something like this is bound to get takers.

I'm confused. What is the nature of these powers? Are they like super-powers or what?

Whatever you want them to be. You CAN become a superman, but if you're very powerful, it's got to have some downsides, too.

Nope. You can play as a regular person caught up in the events.

Ok, so since the RP itself isn't in this thread, can I use it to ask some questions?

Firstly, I've never played an RP before, except for my own, single player version. (Sig)

So, can I play? Can I use the same character?

How do these things work?

I understand the rules, I've read the stickes and the guides at the top as well, however, I'm just not sure how to start playing one of these. Do I already need to know how the story is supposed to be developing?

How does this whole concept... work?

For a more clear explanation of an RP, it would be best to just read a few pages of an active RP to see how it works. But the gist of it is this: it is like your short story, but multiple people are involved, and they only control their characters and some of the environment instead of having control of the entire world. Brief example:

Person 1: Sergius walked into the tavern with a tired look on his face, taking a seat at the bar beside a cheery looking Redguard.

(That would be, in brief, one person's post, though they are much more detailed and longer than that. Now, say the Redguard that Sergius sat down next to was the character of Person 2...)

Person 2: Koden glanced over at the Imperial that had just sat down next to him, giving the downcast man a friendly nod.

(As shown, the players interact with one another, thus creating scenes and an entire story.)

Like I said, reading a page or two of an RP will give you a much better picture of things.
