2066, a memorable year in American History. The Northwest Commonwealth was invaded by Chinese soldiers in Alaska. This attack on America came as no surprise to America and many other countries around the world. America responded to this by deploying soldiers in a counter-attack to push back the Chinese invaders. The war for Alaska was brought about by events that transpired earlier in 2050. In the year 2050 many of the world nations were alarmed to find that their fossil fuels, electricity, water supply, and other necessary resources… were running out. What followed was a series’ of conflicts for resources throughout the world, namely in Europe and the Middle East. The British Commonwealth continued to raise prices on their fuel until finally the Middle East, namely Israel, stopped sending oil to other nations in the world. The British Commonwealth responded to this act by invading. War ensued between The British Commonwealth and Israel which eventually ended with the destruction of Tel Aviv. Tel Aviv was destroyed by an unnamed terrorist organization who detonated a nuclear device in the city. Not only was the city destroyed but most of the surrounding villages were either leveled or severely damaged. The British Commonwealth pulled out with heavy losses and Israel was left to rebuild. This event foreshadowed events to come.
Back on topic. The Chinese continued to fight America in Alaska. The Battle for Anchorage was one of the most important battles in American History. American soldiers managed to push the Red Army out of the mountains and eventually back to Alaska’s coast. January 11th 2077, 11 years later and the war finally ended. The entire war was a surprise due to the fact that a war of this scale had not been seen since Tel Aviv was destroyed.
Random Fact: There was almost 100% peace from the end of World War II to 2050, each nation was allowed to grow but they grew in a different way than they should have. Nations worked towards military power, not economic and fuel efficient power.

On October 23rd 2077 the most notable event happened. Cities all across America were interrupted by air raid sirens. It has been established that almost none of the civilians heard the sirens go off and if they did, they just passed it off as another drill. The Vaults closed and their inhabitants were locked within. Within minutes the first nuclear missile hit America, followed by another and another. President Richardson authorized a retaliation and American missiles were fired at every major country across the world. Two hours of nuclear combat ensued. Many people state that “the world was destroyed” but in fact, it was reshaped. Mountains were created by buckling land. Almost all of the bodies of water were irradiated. The world was cast into its last season, a year long season known as “desert summer”.
People who did not get into the Vaults were forced to take shelter in caves, houses, military establishments, subway tunnels, Pulowski Preservation Shelters, sewers, and other places that appeared safe. Most of the people who did not get into Vaults were killed or hideously mutated into irradiated beasts. Some of these beasts were feral and would attack any thing that moved, other beasts retained their intelligence but not always their civility. Some of these intelligent creatures created their own civilizations. Civilians who managed to survive the radiation and the blasts lived wherever they were. It was not until many years later that the first recorded group of people entered the outside world. Now it is said that all people on the outside have been killed by savages or the irradiated beasts.
Chapter 21 shows us what awaits us on the outside and shows us why we are better off in the safety of our Vaults.

The room illuminated and a man in a nice outfit stood up from his metal chair, then took his place in front of the class. He went around and collected the white sheets from each of the students sitting in front of him, occasionally giving a mad look at the disruptive students. After about four minutes of walking around and double checking the papers, he placed them on his desk and stood in front of the class.
“Okay students. I hope this was educational and you learned something about the outside world since you were all so curious about it” he coughed “class is out in five minutes. Return to your rooms. Your Generalized Occupational Aptitude Test or G.O.A.T. results will be arriving or already arrived in your bedroom mail tubes” he moved to another spot in the room.
“Thank you for attending twelve years of schooling with me and I hope to see you around the Vault as advlts instead of students. When the bell is sounded you may leave” he returned to his metal chair and turned to the computer.
He was somewhat relieved to be done with this particular set of students. Once they left he would go to the Vault 907 assignment office and get the list of students that he would teach for twelve years. It was a long process but he felt as if he was doing something important and something good for the future of Vault 907. It was on to the next generation.

It is 2287, almost 210 years ago the world was forever changed by a nuclear war. Many people are in Vaults and this story takes place in Vault 907 on the border of Wyoming, Nebraska, and South Dakota. The terrain has changed from what it was in the Pre-war times. Mountains have moved, Rivers and lakes have formed, Deserts have been created.

Some general terms and locations
Urban Ruins are anything in the old urban areas
"Savages" are raiders, bandits, anyone else who wants to loot, pillage, and kill.
"Creatures" are ghouls.
"The Creatures" are super mutants.
"Intelligent Creatures" are ghouls and super mutants who have retained their intelligence but not always their civility, they can be violent.
The River is the only river in the area.
The Range is the set of mountains in South Dakota.
"The Triangle" refers to one of two things. When people say "the Triangle Wastes" they are talking about Wyoming, South Dakota and Nebraska. When they say "The Triangle" they are talking about the city.

Vault 907, a typical metal and underground Vault where people live. It has twenty three different levels and many different rooms and corridors.
Powder, a larger shanty town that is surrounded by a twenty foot wall. It is run by a group of three old men known as "Elders". It has a small militia and is pretty secluded.
Powder II, this is a settlement established by a scout from Powder under an Elder's orders. A small wall has been started but not finished, similar to Powder. This is run by the Elder's envoy.
Palace Towers Hotel, a set of two towers. Both are thirty stories tall and connected by a skywalk at the fifteenth story. This place is a 'castle', there is a ditch dug around it that is filled with irradiated water. There is also a fifteen foot wall that surrounds the court yard from attack. Electricity has been fixed by a mysterious man named John, who also runs the Hotel. It has its own security group.
The Warehouse, all that is known about this place is that it is a two story warehouse and it is run by savages.
The Capital, this is a refuge that is run by a man who calls himself the Mayor. The people who live here live in mostly intact buildings. There is a large military group that protects this place, NCR is rumored to be them.
NCR Outpost Cavern, an NCR outpost.
Riverside, a shanty town built on the river in the urban ruins. Protected by NCR rangers.
The Triangle, a shanty town that was built around a casino. Military fences with barbed wire surround it because it is the epicenter of the slave trade. A man named "Pink" runs it. Protected by mercenaries.
Krum, a shanty town built inside of a cavern. It is run by savages.
Outpost Wayward, a typical outpost of the National Guard.
Kilimanjaro, all that is known is that it is deep within a cave network and large groups of The Creatures move in and out of it.
Vice, this is a place where you can gamble, drink, smoke and pretty much anything else. This is built into an old factory and its surrounding court yards. Vice is run by a group of people. This is protected by Savages turned mercenaries.
Haven, this place is high in a sky scraqer. Haven starts from the thirteenth floor and goes to the roof, which is seven floors. Haven is only accessible by one set of stairs that is guarded heavily by Intelligent Creatures. Haven is known to be the home of a lot of Intelligent Creatures.
Newfoundland, this town is built into an old set of cabins. It is only accessible by a long road which is heavily guarded by National Guard soldiers. Newfoundland is one of their refugee camps.
Inner City National Guard Base, the National Guard protect this place and rebuilt most of it. They now operate there as the main military power in the Three State Wasteland. Soldiers guard this place heavily with power armor and energy weapons.
Tavern, this is one large motel with a few shanty buildings around it. Tavern is usually avoided by Savages but Intelligent Creatures come there because they are accepted. People who live there are forced to get along with the Intelligent Creatures. Protected by inhabitants.
Outlook, an old "abandoned" National Guard base.
Moonsite, this town is built under ground in an old abandoned Vault. It is kept clean and appears to be a normal Vault except for the fact that it is open. Has a strong militia.
Outpost Raven, a typical National Guard Outpost.
Iso, this is built under an old overpass that collapsed during the explosions. Shanty buildings are built into the side. It is run by no one.
Factions
New California Republic (NCR) - The New California Republic is a democratic federation based in California but with holdings in Nevada, Oregon, and Mexico. The Republic is dedicated to old world values such as democracy, liberty and the rule of law , as well as restoring order and progress in the Wasteland , though in recent years it has faced difficulty living up to those standards. The NCR has begun moving into Wyoming.
Nebraska National Guard (NNG) - The Nebraska Nation Guard is a democratic military force based in Nebraska but it hasn’t begun spreading yet. The Guard is a firm democracy that tries to preserve law, order, and liberty throughout the wasteland. In recent years they have begun spreading out in Nebraska.
Rules
No god moding, meta gaming, auto dodging or auto hitting, none of that other crap.
I control if something important happens.
I control most of the important NPCs.
There is no knowledge of anything outside the Vault when we start.
Romance is alright but do not go overboard.
Swearing is fine
