Question about modding skin textures

Post » Sun Mar 06, 2011 8:31 pm

I'm pretty new to the modding... okay lets make that total noob... and what I'm trying to do is add things like scars and tattoos to already existing skin textures. Anyone know of a relatively easy way to accomplish this using Paint.net. I already have the dds plugin for it but when I open a texture it just looks like a rolled out human that's been run over by a steam roller. So, would this be the only way of adding things or is there something I'm missing? Thanks for any help anyone can give.

That's pretty much what we have to work with. :P

You have to kind of work out where it would be normally.

bear in mind that unless you name those new altered textures differently to work for a specific race, it will apply them universally to all people, unless that's what you want.

Alternatively, there's this mod, may make it easier for you:
