Cliff Racers. Thousands of them swooping down on my poor level one thief, as he helplessly pelts arrows at their invincible hides to no avail!

What could be more horrifying?

Why are slaughterfish not in this poll? I remember that they traumatized me in morrowind the first time I went into the water. I died and I didn't even know what I was getting hurt by! I was scared of the water until I was like level 27 with 500 health.

Anyway, out of this poll, Sixth House bases and ancestral tombs are creepy, cliffracers always make me jump when i don't expect them and then they're just there, and "By Azura, By Azura By Azura!!!" is just plain freaky.

Imperials in Solstheim scare me most. I quoth "I could eat a baby's [censored] through a sewer grate"

An audio glitch i got one time scared me: Calvus Hortatious was travelling with me in Vvardenfell and he voiced dialogue that should have been "let's set aside our differences and shall we talk" it came out as "let's set aside our differences and shag"

Uncle Crassius always gets me- the only NPC I avoid at all costs.

Uncle sweetshare does not scare me- but I have scared buddies by singing his little song.

The adoring fan from Oblivion is wrong.

To be serious though- the only things that have scared me in TES are the Barrows and their inhabitants. Darker than Ancestral Tombs back on Vvardenfell, they are full of really strong, really ugly undead. Draugr's and Bonewolfs- Draugr's in particular- when you are in a particularly dark barrow and an almost black Draugr sneaks up on you and kicks you then claws you and all you see are the red glowing eyes and that undead roar.

BTW- whomever mentioned Shalebridge Cradle from Thief 3 earlier gets my kudos- the only time I actually considered quitting a video game because it was too disturbing. That game has the most disturbing zombies ever.

One time, I was going through a dungeon on Oblivion and my torch went out. I knew where I was going, so I kept on moving. Eventually, though, I got a bit lost. I tapped my torch hotkey and found myself starting straight into the face of a zombie.

Though that's about the only time TES has scared me. That house up on the hill in (I think) Gnisis used to give me the creeps, though.

Just today I was fighting a Wraith (actually training my destruction casting fireballs at it) when it died (again) right in front of me. Due to some texturing glitch that got garble the damn thing seemed for a second or two to be made of rotten flesh and blood while it agonized in fire. Not really scary but creepy as hell. :P

Ash Vampires = Me - Bajeezus.

Ilunibi and Kogoruhn also force me to wear advlt diapers when visiting.

The Anvil lighthouse basemant is the most horrific room I've entered, although the only thing I could do while looking around was laugh..

Sixth House bases. When you had to clear that one out on like the 5 part of the main quest in Morrowind, it freaked me out. Those things are just bad news. :bolt:

"Water in Daggerfall" / "Slaughterfish in Daggerfall" need to be added to this list. lol Anyone who has played it will immediately understand. The first time I cheated in Daggerfall (and regrettably so) was to avoid water in a dungeon.

The ultimate scare in a TES game: even the remote possibility of there being no new game in the series (shudders involuntarily).

Not to sound dumb but what is Sixth House Bases?

In MW they were some of the creepiest, toughest, reddest places, protected by mindless ash creatures. You better have some heavy weaponry when you're taking one on.

Zombies. Need I say more?

I can't vote for the 'VENGEANCE!!!' choice because I have the free download version of daggerfall and it doesn't play sound effects. The music comes out fine but not the sound effects :( .

I knew a kid/guy that looked/reminded me of the fan. He would anoy me on purpose to piss me off, then when i got angry at him he would go tell the Lecturer that I was rude and aggresive towards him. and I'd get told off. Well what the hell does he expect?

Where are the Dwemer ruins on that list? First time I stepped into one (the one with the puzzle box) I was scared poopless. Admittedly, I was quite young, but still, the sound of gears grinding echoed off the massive chamber walls made me almost turn off the game. I thought there was some sort of giant mechanical monster coming for me.
