I've just started Bloodmoon for the first time in years. (And only the second time ever, since I usually get bored with characters before they get to be high enough level.)

Anyway, do you get someplace you can store stuff in and around the island or should I just find a house on TESNexus or PES?

I believe you get a house at the end of the East Empire Company questline.

You also get a house in the Skaal village during the main quest and you get your own room in the Thirsk Mead Hall when you complete the quests there.

Yeah the Skaal give you the blodskaal's house, and the Raven Rock Colony Estate.

Yes you do get the houses others have mentioned. It's been a long time since I got that far and finished the Bloodmoon quests. With my current character, I just modded a few high capacity containers behind Thirsk so I had a place to stow stuff while I explore.
