How do I duplicate the Scroll of Icarian Flight effect?

Post » Sun May 01, 2011 3:35 pm

There's only three of the scrolls in the game, as far as I know. (Of course, I've never really looked, either.)

Is there any way to duplicate the effect of that scroll? I've got a character who can survive the jumps easily. I think it would be a great way to get around the map quickly, without relying on my friends at the Mages' Guild.

The spell itself is in the construction set, you should be able to make a little mod and add it to a spell merchants list or make an item with it.

Yes, there's only three in the game.

But you can easily make a quick plug-in that adds more to the world. The ID is "sc_icarianflight"
The Enchantment itself is called "sc_icarianflight_en" which is Fortify Acrobatics->Self->Dur 7->Mag 1000 to 1000
It would be pretty difficult to imitate that with in-game Spellmaking, so it would be easier just to do in the CS.

Yeah, I made a "junior" version of the spell, which fortifies Acrobatics by 500 points for three seconds. It's just long enough to get up in the air, but you don't go nearly as high or far. You can jump over mountains, though.

Seems as you get really far in the game, it becomes important to be able to get around FAST. Guess that's why they have fast travel in Oblivion.

Since you have fortify skill, you can chain together spells or enchanted items to duplicate the full magnitude of the scroll.

Outside of this, the best way to zip around is a weak levitate and a powerful fortify speed, easily-obtained through potion abuse. Kagouti hide, moonsugar, and shalk resin fortify speed, but I couldn't tell you what vendors restock them.

I use a cephalapod helm enchanted with a large amount of levitate and invisibility for a few seconds, cast on use, then just keep clicking.

Part of any Morrowind game for me is making a speed belt. Those are easy enough and you can just emulate the magical gear of Morrowind. Though nobody asked, this is a fast travel belt:

Open the CS and select Morrowind.
In the Object Window select the Enchantment Tab.
Double-click 'Blinding Speed' - Notice the two effects (this is normally for Boots of Blinding Speed).
Remove one effect. Make the first effect Fortify Attribute Speed and use like 300 for magnitude - constant effect.
Change the 'ID' from 'Blinding Speed' to 'Fast Travel' (or something you like). THEN Save that.
In the Object Window select Clothing Tab
Double-click 'belt of charisma' - Change 'ID' and 'Name' and Change enchantment to your enchantment (Fast Travel). Then Save that.

I usually navigate to Seyda Neen Arrille's Tradehouse and carefully place the belt there. Instead, you can just use the console in game and type Player->additem "Belt ID" 1

Save the new mod and check it off in the launcher.

About the only stat I permanently increase with the soultrap glitch is speed. Bit faster than that enchanting.

(I used to do that with feather, decided it was too much cheatery, gave myself Stendarr's Hammer and other things till my burden was accurate)

Is the hammer a pretty good weapon?
