It all depends. How old are you? I don't want you to answer since we are not allowed to ask, but I want to say if you are in your 30's and you have played games from 10 years ago and loved them, then I would say you have a feeling how games were like back then and you may enjoy it. If you are the young say in your teens and never played games from 10 years ago, I would say maybe. If you are a "common gamer" and or have a short attention span, (I do but still love Morrowind) and need gratification now, then I believe Morrowind may not be for you.

After playing Oblivion and loving and going back to Morrowind, I hated Morrowind when I tried to go back. Combat is different. It's not fluient. Almost everything in Morrowind is Static. No fast travel like in Oblivion. No compass to tell you where to go, (great thing, and you don't need it because everything is almost static, that is why you need a compass in Oblivion everything moves around too much and far and you would miss it worse than the puzzle box).

But I fell in love with Morrowind again. I love you have more weapon choices, armour choices, and levitation. You also have transportation spells as well. Spears, cross bows, throwing knives.

Just be AWARE that there will be an intial SHOCK and you will think The Elder Scrolls Morrowind is the greatest game in the history of the universe. and WTF they were thinking of coming from Oblivion. But if you are patient and understand Morrowind is a true Roll Playing Game. Even if you seem to hit, you don't do damage, because, you missed (yeah it svcked but you coudln't do much back then in programming) or you didn't do enough damage because you are not skilled enough, or your opponent dodged it, or has good armour skill or what not. You can fail casting magika spells, wich I hated in Oblivion that you are always successfull casting. No level scaling. You can meet a level 20 enemy at level 2. Yes graphics are outdated but it was top notch for it's time, just like how Oblivion was top notch for it's time.

So please have an open mind if you get it. It is hard, but once you get into it, it is so rewarding. Best game ever for me. Yes I died when I fought that mudcrab first time.

I would recommend Morrowind to anyone; it's one of my favourite games of all time. However, I accept that most people, particularily people for whom Oblivion was their first RPG experience, will not enjoy it. It's a different kind of game.

And that is the reason why you always should play Beth games on a PC, lots of player maked mods - there are also Morrowind mods who make the game more alive and more realistic ... Ofcourse do not forgot it's still by standards a 'old game' from 2002 ...
