Just thought id make a thread about how you set your MGE when playing morrowind.
Just curious as to how everyone sets theirs and what FPS you get on average. Also list your PC specs.

Ill start by posting how i set mine up :)

First of all i play at 1920x1200 with 8x AA and 16x AF with a FOV of 85

The only shaders i currently use (until i find any more i like) are
ImprovedWaterCaustics06a
knx_SSA0_v09

My PC specs
Q6600 @ 3.2ghz
4GB OCZ RAM @ 1066Mhz
nVidia BFG 260 OC

EDIT: Forgot to mention my average FPS, DOH!
I Get around 3-40 whilst walking around morrowinds mainland and TR.

So fire away all! :flamethrower:

How did you set your fov? FPS opt? Mine is auto set to 75 in mge and i cant change it.

I noticed you dont have an hdr or bloom shader, i suggest trying the gimp_HDRBloom shader if you haven't allready.

My settings are 4xaa 4xAF
1920x1080
same misc page as sgmonkeys
world texture 2048
world nrml map 1024
med world mesh det
min static size is 400
15 draw distance (wish i could keep this around 30, but i hate playing at 15fps)
no blur
auto set other distances checked
relfect landscape, nearby statics, and sky
shaders:
gimp_hdrbloom_v1_3_vt2
Knx_ssao_v09

good old xp 32
QX6700
2gigs 1066 Mhz
evga 295 gt
all stock speeds

Outdoors I never get under 18fps and it usually stays around 25, sometimes jumps up to 35

There was an updated .dll for MGE to enable the FPS option. You should be able to find it in the MGE thread, if not i can upload it for ya

I don't use FPS Optimizer :brokencomputer:

Awesome, i found it. Upping the fov really brings the game up a notch. Thanks for the info.

Not nearly the best system around here, but very solid and get's the job done :)

PC
CPU: Q6600 at 3.2GHz (8x400)
GPU: EVGA GTX 260 Core 216 (65nm version)
SSD: Intel X25-M

MGE Settings
Resolution: 1680x1050
World Texture: 2048
World Norml Map: 1024
World Mesh Detail: Highest
Minimum Static Size: 0 (with exception list, though... excluding some things, enhancing others)
Draw Distance: 10 (I used to do 15, but got to feel like it was too far)

Shaders
Improved Water Caustics
Sunshaft Rays

ENB
Bloom/Blur
HDR
Color Adjustment

Ranges from around 20fps (Balmora and some other areas) to 40fps, 60fps interior (capped). Although some of the wilderness areas dip just as low now that I use Vurt's awesome ashtrees =)

Resolution: 1280x1024, default FOV

4x AA
8x AF

Range Vertex Fogging

All the shader boxes on the misc tab except Hook texture loads (Never seen a mod that needs it)

HDR Reaction time 5,00

CPU Idle box checked -> Idle Time 0 ms (apparently that's beneficial)

Thread Loading box ticked

Distant land:

World Texture: 2048
World Normal Map: 1024
World Mesh Detail: High

static size: 180
mesh detail: 90%
Grass density: 90%

Draw distance: 4,0 cells (No blur)

Above water fog: 3.0 to 4.0
Below water fog: -1.0 to 0.8
Distant interior fog: 0 to 0.9

All water reflection options checked

Shaders:

ImprovedWaterCaustics 06a
sunshaft_v002a
GIMP_HDRBloom_v1_3_vt2
I reluctantly removed the SSAO shader for a FPS boost.

I'm using Phal's water shader with waves.

Around 60-70 FPS indoors, 20-25 outdoors. But the outdoors FPS also has a lot to do with tree replacers and a much larger number of NPCs (Starfire's NPC additions+Children of Morrowind).

System:

Intel Core 2 Duo E8500 3.16 Ghz
4 GB RAM
ATI Sapphire HD4850 512 MB

OS: Windows XP Professional 64 bit

FYI, posting your MGE.ini is easier (Bethesda Softworks\Morrowind\mge3\MGE.ini), added in one of the post-3.8.0 revisions:
