Hey,

I have been working on a mod which I call "Under The Basking Sun". I've been too unsure however to make a WiP thread about it, so I thought I'd ask you guys how you like this mod.

I have completed most parts of this mod, and it's working perfectly. But there are still quite a few things to be done, and I'm working on this alone so I really need to know if its worth all this work .

This is how the mod works. (this far that is, I still have some cool ideas to add:P)

You are supposed to travel to Sadrith Mora from Ebonheart to take care of some business. (The whole mod starts from this small side quest)
There is a sudden change in plans, when the ship you are traveling with founders and you are the only one left alive.
You wake up in the ship which is half-full of water, and you are so damaged by the storm that you have to leave everything you own behind you.
Your strength, health and magicka is also completely damaged (some of them down to zero), by the storm.
Once you are out from the ship you start swimming south from the shipwreck, and finally you see palmy shores and clear blue water in front of you.

Now this will change your character quite a bit, and you will truly have to make some effort with your character to pull this through. There are dangerous animals in the jungle, and some parts of the islands are home to pirates.
You will gain strength, magicka and health by eating the right sorts of berries and meat, (the wrong ones are poisonous and will kill you) and to learn how the nature works on the island you will find a journal written by a previously shipwrecked man. So this will change some of your characters stats, but you can always train them back, right?:)
This far, the mod has added hours of gameplay already, and many really challenging situations. And I mean it, you are stranded there for quite a while, no matter how high level you are .
What would you do? You'll have to figure out .

So I would like to hear what you guys think. And If I get the response that I'm hoping for (amount of responses that is ), I will finnish this project, but I dont see the point in putting in so much effort if no one will download it .

The important part is what you think of the idea. It doesn't matter what you make, people will download it. You shouldn't mod for them though, do things that you like, and you'd like to see.

This sounds really interesting and different. Have you seen the game http://www.unrealsoftware.de/game_stranded2.php? Not sure how many if the ideas in there would work in Morrowind, but it's what I thought of when I read your post. Cool ideas :thumbsup:

and Nazo, I've always modded for myself, and now I want to mod for someone else . And that should be something that people want to download, right?:P

I think this looks like a cool idea, and the scenery is spectacular! I for one would definitely play this. The only problem I could see is, make sure it's possible (even if not easy ) to get all of the character's stats back to how they were to begin with, or at least close. While challenge is good, I'm sure I'm not the only one who wouldn't want to train all my stats back completely!

I would love to play this mod, but only if there is a way at the end to completely reclaim all lost stats and equipment. I don't want to build up a character just to have to start over! It may be a good idea to possibly make this take place early on in the game so that the penalties are reduced.

Also- Is it or is it not compatible with Tamriel rebuilt? This extremely important to many people (including myself).
