Post » Sun May 01, 2011 9:51 pm

and i dont mean has the most gold i mean i can haggle to like 60% or more and it still be in the easy range on the haggle bar so far the coin purse in bravil is working but im hoping theres anotehr merchant who ican get to 70% or more

also how many missions are there in the vanilla game that require you to sleep inorder to progress the game ??? im tryign to stay at level 1 as long as possible (since level up is backward lower level you are more likeley enemies die in 1 or 2 hits and less likly my character dies in 1 hit)

Off the top of my head five sleeping required quests that I know of..
Spoiler

The Dark brotherhood intro quest twice, once to get their attention, another after the first task.
Twice more to become a full vampire, once if you contract it from a generic dungeon vamp.
Anvil the house there requires sleeping in the bed once to kick start the haunted mansion quest proper.
Anvil mages guild, you have to sleep in the inn.
The ship / inn in the water front has sleeping after X ammount of hours as its starting point.

The merchant with the lowest mercantile skill and highest disposition, and thus the one who'll pay the best rates, is Sinderion-- the alchemist in Skingrad who takes your Nirnroots. There are a few problems with him though-- first, he only has 400 gold, so you're sort of limited on what you can sell to him. Second, his inventory never resets, so he'll always have everything you sold to him. That's sort of nice if you want to buy something back, but means that if you sell him a lot of stuff, it can take a while to load his inventory, and can even make the game freeze. And finally, he's an alchemist, so he only buys and sells potions, ingredients and alchemy apparatus until you get your mercantile skill to 50, at which point you can buy or sell anything to anyone.

As a general rule, the mages guild alchemists have low mercantile skills, and if you're in the guild, they have a naturally high disposition to you, so they're pretty good too. Like Sinderion though, they're limited in what they'll buy and sell until you get to journeyman mercantile.

My personal favorite is Rindir in the IC market district. I can generally get him to 70% or more right from the start of the game, and can get him to about 85% later in the game. And he buys weapons and armor from the very beginning.

When you're out that way, Varel Morvayn in Anvil is arguably the best all around. He's only an apprentice in mercantile but he has 1200 gold. He won't pay as high a rate as Sinderion or Rindir, but he pays a pretty decent rate, and 1200 gold is the most you'll get from any regular merchant.

You could always make a custom spell - Charm 100pts Touch & Fortify Mercantile 100pts Self x1sec...this way you can invest in any store and trade with anyone getting the best deals...and,their disposition will never decrease while your looking for the right spot for the haggle slider.I never really bother with the Speechcraft/Mercantile skills,so this spell is very useful.

If you level up you will have more health and do more damage...and you could always adjust the difficulty to your liking.

Not to mention that if you max out your characters stats and get destruction up pretty high you can make some pretty lethal custom enchanted weapons that will drop enemies in 3-5 hits anyway.

but at level 1 i can 1 hit almost everything spare a few select npcs with the flare spell

although i would liek to try teh enemies explode spell ... it rquires at least 460 magicka + 75 destruction i think

also i dont really care for how much gold merchants have because all im doing is going to mages guilds and stealing every last alchemy apparatus and glass orb i see

25 gold for ever morter and 50 gold for everything else and at mages guild i find like 10 or more of each thing

i hate the guild in bruma i got locked in teh top floor i had no lock picks and no open lock spells and i traveld to teh top floor and mage key lets me in but then its average locked so i cant go back down ... had to realod liek 15 mins prior to going there :/ are there any other guilds that will do that to me (im not exactly worried about being locked in any more i bought an average open spell + a open hard lock spell and can cast the both ...

how do i train destruction ??? in morrowind it got xp just for casting it in this game i spent like 5 mins casting at wall hasnt even gone up 1 xp ! yet my alteration was going up a level every 8 cast of starlight up untill level 60 then was every 15 cast untill level 75 then i moved onto casting heal life so i could buy and cast heal major wound ...

Snip

Destruction needs to hit a target unlike morrowind, using summons as target practice is the favoured metheod base skeletons are best.
That or when you can later on create a destruction 3 point elemental spell on self and cast that.

The Khajitt in the Dark Brotherhood is probably the best person that you can sell stuff too, although he only has 400 gold.

Since you've combined the two issues already, if you're trying to make gold by selling things, keeping your level down is counter-productive, as the value of drops depends on your level. You'll be selling a lot of iron and fur armor to get the same gold as one Glass Cuirass.

Most of your income from dungeon-diving is going to come from weapons and armor at low levels, and you'd need to increase your mercantile skill to sell anything to any merchant, so you'll do best with Varel Morveyn.
