The cowboy perk

Is it just me or does the cowboy perk make leaver action weapons OP in comparison to some other guns (brush gun) ?
Am i the only one who thinks this?

Brush gun and rangers Sequoia become monsters.

its a good perk, if you plan on using weapons of that type.

An optional perk to make you better with Lever Action weapons. Is that really unexpected?

I'd take the perk, but it isnt worth dumping so many points into my melee skills.

Yep, and iirc arent they throwable ? I know something throwable was effected, which is useless as they cant be picked up.
WOnder if the fire axe counts as one ?

No, the fire axe is not a cowboy weapon.

I'm doing a cowgirl right now. Playthrough, I mean. I bought some throwing knives at the beginning from Chet for stealth kills, but haven't seen any more since. Wiki says both Chet and Mick sell 'em, but I've never seen any more in 30 levels.

Melee 45 requirement is what balances it imho.

Exactly. If all you needed was X guns, then it'd be rather OP.

Gospel. And worse when you're playing a 1 IN like I am. I REALLY could have used those other 30 skill points for something else, but, what the heck. Idiot Cowgirl has been a fun build, nontheless.

Throwing knives are very good for sneaky sneaky kills even without the perk, and they're your only option for silent ranged weapons if you stick solely to what a proper Cowboy would be seen using.

Add poison for extra juicy goodness!

The throwing hatches are just pure awesomeness. Very accurate in V.A.T.S, nice animation and planting one of those in someone's head is just immensely satisfying.
