Which Platform?

Not everyone wants mods, sometimes its best to just appreciate what they have made and stop altering it. Even if I had a PC I wouldn't use mods.
Read your username. Even finding a mod that fixes an annoying bug can be a blessing with the PC.

@OP: Would having Windows, and a backup drive benefit you more than having a PS3? I can see advantages to that, but I'm not you. Your machine should be more than capable of handling the game, so that shouldn't be a concern.

PS3 user here. I can't say I'm impressed w/ the game's performance on PS3. I experience a freeze prob once every hour and a half, on average, that is. The frame rate drops like crazy in more populated areas, gomorrah casino for example. But the experience is tolerable.

If you have a beefy PC I would suggest PC. I'm thinking about getting a PC just for future Bethesda releases.

It basically boils down to $ right? Are you willing to buy/upgrade your computer to run New Vegas? If not, it is consoles for you.
