Wow, did not think it would work

So, I downloaded the Crysis SP demo and messed around with the settings to see how far I could push it. I had all besides 3 of the settings on VARY HIGH! I had to keep AA off and it was at 800x400 res. Still, I did not think my PC would make it that far.

I might get a new system that would handle Crysis easily, hopefully C2 as well

Here are my sad specs

AMD Athlon X2 2.40GHz
XFX ATI Radeon HD 4350 1GB
3GB DDR RAM
1TB 7200RPM HDD
Windows Vista Home 32Bit

I DO, however, meet the recommended requirements, which seems odd. Oh well, still can't handle Crysis at it's highest settings

Hi there, quite reasonable specs, but its a shame you cant upgrade your O.S. to Windows 7 64 bit, as your ram is limited by 32bit O.S. A 64bit version makes one hell of a difference

Recommended doesn't mean for very high, it means for low at a high res..

Recommended for very high at high res is:

i7/Phenom II Black Edition

4GB RAM +

58xx series or GTX4xx

Flamers

^ You can get away with a GOOD 48xx or GTX2xx card. Im personally running an i7, 12gb ram and a GTX295 and run Crysis @ Max @ 1920x1200 no problem. My 2nd rig with an i7, 6gb and a GTX 260 is pretty much the same (1280x1024 though).

Yeah my pc is worse than yours hunter, and I just play on medium - low settings and get 40+ fps on all but the largest mp maps. If you don't have to have all the eye candy crysis is very playable and enjoyable on lower settings with most any descent current day rig.

If I were you, hunter, I'd settle for higher res with medium-low settings versus low res and very high settings.

Fortunately, that's not a problem I have to worry about.

Also, flamers, you can easily get away with high res with very high settings with
Core 2 Duo
4GB Ram
NVidia 8800

Those were my system specs (before I upgraded) on release of Crysis and it ran near max everything with an awesome framerate

Well, I am using a 4350, which is not a powerful card. Thus, I'm happy with what it's dishing out so far

I'm using 2xHD5870 so Crysis is not a problem, I play everything maxed out with an average FPS of ~70-80

when crysis 2 comes out im gonna buy a second 5850 and surpass the performance of a gtx 295 :-D
its a pity they dont include an anaglyphic 3D feature though, who is stupid enough to invest in 3D hardware now??? the different companies have to find a common model first and its not gonna be nvidia's. theres a reason why cinema chose polarized glasses.
