SLOW FPS?

Post » Fri Oct 24, 2008 3:17 am

I heard the average FPS is around 30.

Walking around: 25 Fps

Driving a vehicle: 22 FPS

Minor Firefight: 20 FPS

Large Firefight: 16 FPS :U

Vehicle Firefight: 10 FPS :'(

I've recently reformatted and cleared the system cache of my hard drive.
My Xbox is from 2007.

Is this normal? I really should have gotten this for the PC :/

anything less than 20 automatically is unplayable. So either you made these figures up or someone told you lies.

The fps in this game is awfull. The controlls are clunky and unresponsive. Playing the multi was a redemption after the single player. Atleast the fps is closer to the 30 there...

I compared it to how certain fps ranges feel.
I wouldn't say it's very accurate but around there.
And, yes it is possible to get lower than 20 fps on a console. It isn't a magic machine.

Even if the OP's figures are made up, you can't honestly expect a game like Crysis to run at 60 fps or even 30 fps constant. Hell, I've even experienced slowdowns before in cod and halo reach, its not unfeasible to see slowdowns in this game.

I've played through up to the second chapter so far and more than an hour (was trying to get the damn donut 'chievo but failed miserably, why can't we have a reload checkpoint option, I had to get slaughtered every time I wanted to restart) and I feel it's smooth up until now and MP feels great as well. Once I've played through the whole 12+ hours I'll anolyze it and see what it's like.

Did you install it? I'm gonna install it first thing. Don't want to make my 360 explode from having to spin that disc so much.
I think installing makes FPS higher too.

That would have been a good idea probably.

I installed the game on my 360 after playing for about an hour. If you have the space I'd install it. Which 360 are you playing on? I'm on the Halo Reach edition slim and the gameplay has seemed really smooth to me. I'm about 2 hours into the campaign and have played about an hour of multiplayer so far to show where my experience is at.

I think the lowest that i feel it went is probably 20 fps .... 24 is playable 30 is better .. 60 perfect ... otherwise the games framerate is quite stable most of the time

On "Sudden Impact" right after the ship crashing cutscene on the 360 version:
When you resume control of the character and enemy A.I. attacks, framerate drops dramatically (Especially with enemy reinforcements).
Before "Sudden Impact" in the parking garage I noticed Enemy Ragdolls and Vehicle tires repeatedly bounce through the games geometry (bobbing through the floor)
Enemies will randomly teleport over obstacles rather than using their predetermined climbing animations.
Some enemies could see through geometry of a broken or collapsed freeway (I was above and he was under and it spotted me, alerting the other A.I. soldiers)

I noticed the clipping issue as well. I was getting shot at through a wall in a parking garage during the campaign. It only happened once though, and I am sure they will patch it soon.
