Big, giant threads svck! Make a forum already!

Post » Sun May 01, 2011 1:58 pm

I keep seeing threads like, "TES V Suggestions Thread #188", just make a forum already. Piling all that stuff into a single thread makes the thread unreadable, and useless. Every "suggestion" should be a thread on its own, with it's own discussion. Don't care about that suggestion/idea? Just skip the entire thread and go read/comment on only the ones you're interested in. Big, giant threads svck, because it's hard to quickly determine if a particular suggestion you are *thinking* about suggesting is already present, or has already been discussed in the previous 200 pages of comments.

Making a whole new forum just for suggestions is pointless.

EDIT: Typo

Yes, in the "Bethesda Softworks > The Elder Scrolls > V - Skyrim > Skyrim General Discussion" forum. Instead of a thread, suggestions should be a "Bethesda Softworks > The Elder Scrolls > V - Skyrim > Skyrim Suggestions" forum. There's just way too many ideas for a single thread. It makes no sense to pile it all into a single thread. Why have a hiearchical forum if you are going to pile all the stuff that *should* be independent threads into giant thread-balls?

Dar'jaar: There would be a point - to allow readers to more easily navigate the suggestions. I realize the devs probably can't/don't spend much time actually reviewing and implementing the suggestions, but it would at least bring a bit of order to the chaos.

Look around you. There are literally dozens of individual topics of people expressing their desires for what content the game will contain. 3/4 of this new sub-forum is polls on whether certain things should be in the game and what things should be implemented.

I've come to the realization that you're either blind, angry or a troll trying to get a rise out of people. Seriously take a look around you in the sub-forum.

There would be virtually no threads left if there was a separate suggestion section :o

You do realise that one of the reasons why it's all kept in one thread is so it doesn't clutter the forums? A lot of the suggestions have no thought put into them anyway, which is unfortunate because you do come across the random intelligent post which gives a lot of detail and explains itself pretty well (and sometimes these do have their own threads). It's easier to put them all together and dismiss them.

Heck it's around thread 180 now right? Like the devs will ever read through them.

Take a moment to look around this forum- there are many individual topics wherein people intelligently and at length explore/advocate/dispute the viability of different gameplay options. As for folks who just want to say "Bring back spears", etc, there's the Suggestions thread.

On that note, if you have suggestions for the improvement of this forum, contact us via Pm/ report. Don't start a rant thread.
