CE Making of DVD

Post » Thu Nov 13, 2008 5:41 am

EDIT: Nevermind, the Dev diaries are just portions of each chapter of what you find in the DVD.

Original Post:
For those who don't know, all the Making of DVD in the CE is just the Developer Diaries you can find on YouTube under "BethesdaSoftworks." For those that didn't buy the CE, you are not missing out on anything other than poker chips, playing cards, and a comic book.

All I'm finding under "bethesdasoftworks" are the Developer Diaries.
Don't tell me THAT'S the "Making of DVD"

edit: reading is fundamental.

Collector or not, I would feel ripped off.
That's a bit lazy.

How is it lazy that some random person uploaded it to youtube?

A random person didn't upload [censored].

The dev's have been releasing the Diaries over the past few months.
I don't have the CE, so I don't know if PGaither84 is telling the truth about the Making of DVD, but if that's true, all they did was throw together the content they already released for free to everyone before the game's launch.
And to me that's lazy, and a huge ripoff.

edited for clarity.

Yes, I am a bit upset that it is just a collection of the dev. diaries. Yes, it is nice to have a physical copy, but that's it? Also, it wasn't some random who posted it online. Bethesda themselves posted these developer diaries. I don't regret buying my CE, but the DVD is a let down.

Ok, well it would of been up on youtube either way so I guess they figured they would beat everyone to the punch.

I didn't watch all of the dev diaries, though I did watch the DVD. i was under the impression, clicking through the diaries, that they just took each diary and made it a chapter in the DVD. Glad to see the diaries are just cuts of the whole chapters. Thanks!

For those who don't own the Making of DVD and are thinking about buying it, I'd say it's worth it: :fallout:

The FNV Making of DVD was worth the purchase IMO. 49 minutes, includes 8 chapters:
1 Story
2 Characters
3 Art Direction
4 Game Mechanics
5 Factions
6 Sound Design
7 Technology
8 The Strip

And cool Pip Boy Bobble head menus with language selection subtitles, interviews with the stars/voice actors, original Fallout Team members, tons of footage from the game and some previous games, behind the scenes and some great details I was looking for and didn't want to waste time going online to watch with a slower connection speed. This is what I paid the 20 extra dollars for, and the comic book. The chips are nice with the cards as well.

In the end, gamesas delivered on their original misstep by finally sending my DVD. Just wish they went about it with more courteous customer service.
