Increase Run Speed?

i have said perk, my agility is 8 with pre war casual and a 9mm i tend to out run my followers and just about anyone who come after me. so you can get it goin pretty quik

I have the same guide. There is a laundry list of dis-information in that thing, but it is still pretty cool.

Guess Agility is another illusion then. ;)

All I really know is that increasing speed via GECK by .20 is more than enough to feel a lot faster. Even the .10 like the Perk does is quite noticeable. I didn't try to find out what speed would cause my pc to crash, haha.


Increasing it to 25 is fun. You flyyy!

"setgs fmovebasespeed xxx" sets base moving speed for you and npcs. 77 is default.

"player.modav speedmult xxx" increases or decreases player's speed by percentage. Put "-" before the value to decrease speed or undo too high settings. Be warned: the values stack so if you first put 50 and then 20, you move at 150% x 1.2 speed.

"setgs fmoverunmult xxx" determines how much faster running is from walking. Default is 4.

I tested this last night on my current character. I did not time it I only ran back and forth near the Repconn facility check point. At lower Agility it seemed like I was moving through there slower and at higher agility I moved through quicker. It was not a major difference, it was subtle.

I would like to see the formula for this to see how much Agility really does effect run speed. I did not check walking as I never walk in the game. I wonder if there are other factors involved so that in some cases a higher Agility would have little to no effect depending on how the character was rolled.

I have never really paid any attention to how fast I go from one location to another, only how fast I move through a cell.

I'm fairly sure I remember a Dev saying Agility affected run speed.

Well I just did some more testing and unless I am doing something wrong no S.P.E.C.I.A.L. stat at all affects your run or walk speed. I got the same numbers that I did yesterday but today I did a few more things. I started with 0 of 250 weight and moved up to 249 and 254 and agility does not change anything. I tried 1 to 10 agility with my weapon out (fists) and agility did not change anything, although having my weapon out did add a second or two to my run. I put on some pretty metal armour and again it added some time to my run but changing my agility level did not change my time any.

I guess the only thing I never tried was having my weapon out and heavy armour on but if that is the only run/walk speed it affects then the stat is just bugged to begin with. What I do find weird though is I can have 249 of 250 weight and it doesn't change my run speed, yet when I put that armour on it affects me. I know you can't move as well with it on but sheesh I am still carrying the stuff around with me. I thought I was 100 percent sure that the amount of weight you carry affected your run speed but I guess not.

I change my agility level through the console with the modav command and I make sure that my level actually changes. If I am not supposed to restart my game (I did enter Chet's to get a load screen) then I can say with 100 percent confidence that agility does not affect any speed except reload.

People have looked in to the GECK and they have confirmed that agility does not affect movement speed. Only speed which it affects is weapon drawing and reloading.

i think just equipped weight but i was wondering if anyone would know if how close you are to your max weight would effect run speed?

Not when I tested it. I was actually 250 of 250, I could still move just as fast as 0 of 250.
