About the site, and its users (Pls Be careful)

Post » Sat Nov 22, 2008 7:17 am

Don't get me wrong, and I mean no offense to anyone/everyone on this site. Including Crytek's staff (Sorry guys)

But has anyone noticed that there are a lot of odd/useless posts about other games, random info and off topics that don't relate to crysis or its specs at all/. Some are just ignoring other posts and updates. And worst of all are the noobs spying this site waiting for a Beta or Demo release, and posting stuff like when is Beta coming out?? I mean come on, as a dedicated crysis player. Show some respect and be patient. Sure there are some delays, and yes a lot of intrigue on the game for pc users. But that's not stopping me from the great wait.

You know, there is an offtopic and support section for a reason?

And people aren't allowed to wait excitedly for a beta? Lighten up ffs.

/moved to Feedback & Support.

This has been discussed a number of times and my last response on it was this kind of repeated/silly question phase we're going through will likely remain until we get more functionality into the site which allows us to sticky threads and post FAQ's to inform a larger audience in one place.

If you guys think a post/thread is useless, don't post in it. Let it sink to the bottom of the page and disappear without being bumped constantly back up to the top, whilst other, more valid threads keep getting pushed down.

@Black_Angel 6.66

I agree with what you say to some degree, some of the posts have been rather destracting, however there is an off topic that will show posts when you log in, those are usually fairly appropriate, so sometimes of interest, but the rests can simply be ignored if you wish.

It has been a little bit over the top at times, and ai seem to remember making a similiar thread some weeks ago, this slipped into oblivion very quickly.

Overall though, i think the forum is managing the multiplatform transition quite well, and for the most part I have been happy just to accept destactions as part of the transition, and like you, I eagerly but patiently await the release with hope that i get the Nano Edition, come that gloriouse day. :-]

@Talon.

Easy M8, hang in there dude, keep smiling, :-]

No, it doesn't make you a noob. Some people here are just complete a**holes about it, and forget that this forum has no sticky or announcement topics, and no search function.

Pretty damm sure that the post intended no disrespect to any genuine 's out there, and does say so, but i reckon, its time to pass over this one before it gets outa hand,

As I said i do agree to an extent, but not completely with the post, i feel I know the intention at least, but i also feel its gettin close to the edge and would be a good time to call it a day folks.

no dissrespect intended, and take care. :-)

@Talon95 - I'm trying to lighten up
@Guss600 - Thanks for the extent.

To the "spies" - just wait for the official release.

Iti s the 21st century. There are many MANY forum softwares already available in which you don't have to build in functionality. Things such as being able to edit your own post, sticky posts, change the appearance for yourself, etc are already built in. And guess what? Most of it is available for free!

I have started and maintained several forums, and currently run my clan's forums. I have also helped many other clan's with their forums.

To that end, I volunteer my services for free. But you have to give up whatever this abortion of a forums. :)

Some of that is tongue in cheek, but seriously, this is the worse forums ever.
