Hi everyone.

A few times during missions people who have no reason to attack me have randomly started. Most recently was during the mission for The King where NCR troops and Kings followers are fighting over these supply drops and The King sends me to negotiate with the NCR. However as I made my way over to them they just started shooting me, despite me having a good reputation with the NCR.

It also happened in the basemant of the Repconn facility. I was speaking to the ghoul in the basemant who told me he would help if I found evidence of his lady ghoul friend. After exiting the conversation he started shooting, again with no provocation.

I can think of 4 times this has happened. Yielding does nothing. I'm playing on PS3 and the only faction who dislike me are the Powder Gangers, who are all dead.

Is this a bug? Am I doing something wrong?

In both of those instances, you didn't follow their instructions. The NCR will open fire if you approach them too much while having your weapon out and Harland will open fire if you go behind him, pretty much.

So can I do anything to stop the NCR attacking me there?

You cant have your gun out while approaching ncr for the king and you cant go up on harlands platform he will shot you.Your simpky not following there instructions of "peace".

A couple of other thoughts:

Are you wearing any faction armor? Who are your followers? Sometimes they can go hostile and trigger the other NPCs.

I think they explicitly say that in both occasions. I recall one of the NCR officers telling me to holster my weapon, and the general situation with Harland implied that he doesn't want you going past him, hence the situation with finding his friend.
